Zachys La Paulee Auction, Day Two (Smith & Wollensky - New York NY): Great color, great fill (~1 cm). Good degree of remaining black fruit with equal amounts of earth and mushroom. Certainly more mushroomy than fruit driven palate, but firm and showing good density. Impressive for the vintage. Very glad to share with Jean-Marie Fourrier.

Truffle, mushrooms and earth. Excellent nuance, thickness and resolve. Slightly off balance. Holding, but will not get getter. David Beckwith says "like a fit 70 year old man" before I can. Still, great experience, very interesting wine.
