Belated birthday wine session at Wimborne. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of dark red cherries, purple boysenberries, stony minerality, light earth. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), structured medium+ tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, boysenberries, stony minerality, fresh earth, brambly spice. Very long finish. Excellent quality. Power with finesse. Young but already showing so well. I was guessing 2015 Gevrey Grand Cru. Turns out to be another stunning CSJ from Fourrier!

Great nose of red fruit. However, in my opinion, it still needs a few more years. Palate is still a little unresolved. This is even with a one hour decant as recommended below. Will check back in in a couple of years.

Acker JK 51st birthday in NYC. Red fruited perfumes, spices and moderate Gevrey dirt, followed by red cherry inflected flavors. There is certainly a ood depth of flavors, the mouth is very elegant, just lacking a bit in density and sweetness, but that's 2014, not a generous vintage. Good lingering mineral finish at the end. Was much better right after opening than after 3 hours of air as it tightened a lot. This is a bit skinny to be at grand cru level but this is very good and in need of another 5 years to reveal its potential.

So fresh and acidic. Fried flowers. Lots of gamey meaty character and good body. Concentrated fruits. Think it is already at full potential now.
