Wayyyyyy too young to open now. After 2 hours of decanting it was still as closed as Circuit City. But unlike the latter, this will probably open in 2035 or so. You can taste the quality in there, it's just very far away. I'll wait.

The first vintage in the new cellar. So more micro-ox and less pumping over. More finesse and elegance and saltiness I am being told. And that is true. Taste great, a baby other tasters say. Just a touch of mineral to it.

"Casual" Wine Dinner with Friends (Kai Garden @ Marina Square): Deep ruby. Very rich and ripe blackberry and cassis nose upfront, and then a hint of hay, as if it's like Napa. Softened tannins, and similarly with very ripe black fruits that is even reminiscent of Napa, then cut grass and dill and fennel. Rather modern and heavy-handed to me, which got me to want to taste more Calon-Ségur to firm up my point of their potential heavy-handedness

Bordeaux 2022 en Primeur and some recent vintages: For many years, this chateau was in the shadow of Montrose and Cos d'Estournel. Since the sale in 2012, Calon Segur has gradually closed the gap. Very elegant wine, despite classic St.Estephe structure, but the tannins are Worlds better than in the past. Profound aromatics. Those who bought this in 2016, got a real bargain. But even today, it's still worth re-buying.

92 for now; 94+ in a few years or with more air. Gave it about an hour of air and it needed more. Drank alongside the '14 and the '14 was so much more open ready and giving.
