  Drank over 2 days - despite it being 32 years old and 1991 being the first year of an awfull 4 year vintage period, this was really good and fresh.

  Nose: Cedar, black fruits, forrest floor, black pepper
  Notes: Very typical St Julien by the nose with a rush of cedar. This bottle is of pristine condition. Still quite young and fresh which does not match the age and the vintage. This particular bottle has plenty of life left in it and I do feel that it can age for another 10-15 years. It is a surprise given that this shows a good wine from a bad vintage. St Julien was never my favorite region but I must still say that in surprised with its performance tonight.

  niveau parfait, bouchon imbibé aux 2/3
  
  A l'ouverture, le nez cabernete sévère. Il lui faut un peu de temps dans le verre pour qu'il s'épanouisse vers des notes plus douces de poivron fumé, de tabac, de fruits noirs et de cuir frais. Presque 30 ans au compteur et l'aromatique a encore beaucoup de jeunesse. Après 1/2 journée d'ouverture, l'aromatique est quasi inchangée le soir, elle a juste pris quelques notes plus chaudes, épicées.
  Bouche serrée, d'une rectitude qui évite l'écueil de la sévérité grâce notamment à un joli toucher. Pour le coup, la 1/2 journée d'ouverture lui aura permis de déployer toutes ses qualités. Le soir, la trame est toujours présente mais avec une ampleur et une profondeur renforcées, rendant l'ensemble encore plus attrayant.
  Belle finale, tout en distinction même si elle n'est pas d'un persistance marquante.
  
  Un vin qui aura donné sa pleine mesure le soir et comme d'habitude un plaisir incomparable à table. Un vin avec qui il faut prendre son temps, et cela fait un bien fou !

  Outstanding wine. Slight signs of age. Very complex with blackcurrant, but also clear tertiary aroma’s. Excellent length. A very good wine for this difficult vintage. Would recommend drinking in the coming years.
