An intense garnet , with little rim fading , and pronounced legs( only 12.5% alc - those were the days!). At first, it comes across as dense and closed, but a couples of hours decant reveals the wine's lighter side - a smoky nose of menthol and eucalyptus gives way to tobacco and cedar, hints of blackcurrant and raspberry, vanilla and cocoa. Acidity is still medium, as are the still definite tannins, with flavours of tobacco, cocoa and hints of blackcurrant/ blackberry. This wine will not charm the birds off the trees, but it is a solid mature claret, and I see no reason why well-kept bottles should not last for another 5 years. Drink with strongly flavoured food, or cheeses.

PnP drinking wonderfully over a couple of hours. Nicely on point: smooth and rounded with the right balance of fruit and tertiary characteristics. Very enjoyable but think this is one to drink over the next couple of years at best. now - 2024 drinking window is probably accurate to capture it at its best

I think this is drinking wonderfully. Deep brick in colour, mushroom and forest floor and shot through with fruit.

Slight menthol notes.
Wonderfully resolved tannins that have become part of a swirling, interesting wine.
Light spice. Leather. Hints of cherry and oak; but in the background, unthreatening.
All tertiary notes of boots and winter cottages emerge after a couple of hours.
Awesome.

Decent mid core of fruit. After no more than a couple of hours it started drying out.
Drink now!!
