Brown at rim. Nose of underbrush, farmyards and mushrooms. Everything resolved on the palate including the fruit. In its dying embers phase, which I quite liked, but my wife was correct in calling this over the hill and to her it was unpleasant.

This bottle had more brown at the rim than the previous bottle and this greater maturity was replicated on the nose and palate. This was still very enjoyable with ripe cherry aromas and soft round savoury notes on the palate. Slighty spirity on the finish. Based on this and the previous bottle I would guess that the drinking window end of 2019 on CT and 2018 on the Wine Society list are both a tad optimistic. I intend to enjoy the rest of mine within a year.

At a BYO lunch, no detailed notes. Tasted alongside a de Courcel Pommard Grand Clos des Epenots 2002. This was by far the most open and forward of the two ( not a surprise given the respective vintages). Very expressive on the nose and palate; ripe, round and elegant. Probably at its peak now. Delicious.

Flawed - dried out and green, a pity as we were looking forward to this with the turkey.

Absolutely fantastic. Still has that little bit of green vegetation, but must be close to its best. Cherries and strawberries-an absolute delight!
