Clear, medium intense ruby color (quite dark room), developing
nose is clean, medium intense aromas of morelles, sweet kirch, floral, some pepper (but it blows-off after som time), red bellpepper, developing
palate is dry, medium + acidity, medium + ripe tannins, medium alcohol, body and flavour intensity with aromas of red bellpepper, morelles, cigar box, dark plums, red currant, long finish
very well balanced, complex, solid concentration, very good structure with both the tannins and acidity, quite high dry extract, long finish. Drink now and next 10 years, outstanding quality and premium price, 92-93p
As far as the blind tasting, i guessed Sicily, nerello mascallese frappoti blend, but that was far off. Never tasted this variety before and i was impressed, very impressed.

With 21-day aged surloin. Oooooh, ahhhhh. Ummmm. This is lovely. Had a couple of modern village-level Burgs recently, and this beauty steals the show easily. Tasting like a second cousin to Nebbiolo, less acidic, less tannic, less magnificent, but oh so wonderfully mellifulous and autumnal. Right in its drinking sweetspot, I'd suggest, with everything nicely balanced, gentle fruit, and a nice, dry, tannic, tail.

Some port like notes on the nose that aren’t terrible, but otherwise totally gone. 😩

In line with previous note. Lightly caramel nose, nebbioloesque strictness in the mouth. Delicious with roast pork & crackling on a winters day.
