  • Brilliant medium dark ruby red color. Drank 1 glass via Coravin over an hour plus (this was the first glass from the bottle). The first thing you take notice of is the color - amazing crystal clarity and ruby color. The nose is slightly muted at first, the red cherry fruit is out front, cherry, dried cherry, spice, licoirce, dried earth and saddle leather come after with dried rose hips as swell. The palate shows focus and purity, pure red cherry fruits, spice, earth and a strong sense of minerality as the tannins wrap themselves around the tongue and clamp down with some grip. This drinks well now, certainly needs food as the tannins, though dusty and fine, are quite firm now. Very nice length, you can just see this has got miles to go and will get even better as the tannins integrate further. The oak treatment seems to go largely unnoticed too. Oh my this is pristine. 94(and a big + for the future)pts.
