This bottle has finally come around. As I recall, the last time I opened one of these I was worried it was garbage. Not so! It's nothing transcendental, but it is a very good Brunello.

Good wine with food. Fully mature, with raspberries fading to earthy notes. Medium body and finish, with generous tannins and acidity that complimented the meal.

13.5% alcohol. not decanted, but you could, although there wasn't significant development in the glass over 3 hours. this isn't my favorite grape. i ordinarily feel sangio is too tart, and frequently too green. there is a very mild herbaceousness mixed with some raspberry and chewy tannin. however, it's far from mediocre, and as long as i was slugging it down with some pasta, i thought it was ok. later, on it's own, some of my old prejudices began to creep in, and the finish was a little dry. i private preserved a third of the bottle, and if there is anything interesting to report, i'll amend this note. no reason to hold this, drink. (87-88)

Needed 30-40 minutes to open up. When it did it was a nice, full, & rich brunello. I won't hold my remaining bottles much longer.
