Friday Night Brown Bagger (R&D’s): Double blind. Lighter color with aromas of red plum and florals with herbal overtones. On the light side of medium-bodied, with flavors of red berry fruit and dried herbs. (J&J)

Double decanted two hours before service. Medium red color. The tannins are tight and got tighter with more air. The body of the wine came off as somewhat light weight. I never got a lot of fruit out of it. Does the wine need more time, or is it not going to get better? Hmmm.....

Very similar to my last bottle.. although a bit more "polished"...(but using the word cautiously). The wood seems to have mellowed things out a bit, drinking more uniform and less complex than my last bottle. An old school profile tamed by some fairly pronounced wood...although it is stealing the show just a little. 😉
The result is simple, yet somewhat distinguished - displaying background notes of autumn leaf , dark cherry, and a touch of "barn". Warm, dry, dark...uniform with teasers of "restrained" leather, "walnut" and barn. A kiss of cranberry keeping it fresh! A pleasure to consume and would pair with just about anything. A truly delicious taste of old world earth, and old school production...get it while it lasts!!!

I was not impressed by this wine. I decanted my Silvio Nardi two hours prior to dinner and served it with Sirloin Steaks, Garlic Mashed Potato's and Spinach. The color was a bit purplish, and the nose was weak. I did not sense that the wine was evolving, and it had no depth at all. I'm not certain that this wine will improve with age and I do not plan to add it to my cellar.
