Tasted blind. Estuary. Black fruit. Bitter black tea tannin. Iodine. Violets. Dark cherries soaked in milk chocolate. Really opens with time in decanter. Feels young and backward. Excellent wine. Improved with time in glass. Needs another 5 years to revisit.

Wow! This is hella good. Still primary, but heck, right bank Bdx are lovely young. Slow ox’d for about two hours and drunk over four. The bouquet was clearly merlot dominant with plum, violets, and hoisin, with some cab franc leather and green pepper to boot. The oak seems like it’s mostly new medium toast and well judged. Succulent with a fine line of tannin and a well balanced acidity. This should be incredible in a decade, but it’s going to be difficult to keep my hands off the rest of the case. This seems like a good value. Drink or hold.

Although this right bank St Emilion is relatively young, after a 4 he decant it showed really well and was even better on day 2.
This 70% merlot with 30% Cab Franc combo gives it a good silky mouthfeel without the dryness of a left bank. It has plum and raspberry with cedar and vanilla on the end. Medium acidity well balanced and a long finish. A beautiful wine which I’m sure will be a couple of notches higher given time. But with the right decant it shows really well now

Expected a lot more based on the reviews. Not that it was bad… but it’s just not very good. Giving it an 88, but feels more like an 85.
