  • One hour double decant, followed by a two hour slow ox. Deep dark magenta color. Cassis, raspberry, vanilla pudding, and limestone. Smooth, dry, spicy palate. Firm, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.

Brought this to a dinner party with longtime wine friends. My notes don’t do the complexity justice. Not my favorite, but solid for the vintage.

  • Outstanding Bordeau blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc (60/40).
In the glass, deep cherry red color with a hint of purple and slightly opaque.
During decanting, the red fruit aromas were quite engaging.
    Decant time of 1.5 hours.
On the nose, aromas of ripe dark cherries, red berries and cassis with notable hints of leather and tobacco.
On the palate, sumptuously rich yet refined fruit flavors that graciously envelope the palate.
A medium-bodied and delightful with mildly sweet fruit flavor noted at mid to back of the palate provided additional complexity to the wine.
Well balanced acidity with a lovely finish.

Fine but below par for its class even for this vintage.

  • Decanted (no sediment) and aired in carafe for 2 hours. Kept carafe in cellar temp. Solid and very well balanced wine with great concentration of flavors without being too dense or overwhelming. Fruit is plush and sweet,(well sweet within bordeaux boundaries, it is a dry wine for sure) with elegant nuanced dark red and blue fruits, oak, light cedar, with some unintegrated oak still but it is getting there. To me this will grant a peak 92p-93p in 2-5 years. Would hate to lose the lovely fruits to the more austere backbone. Nice grippy tannins makes this an amazing foodwine and completes the exit nicely.

  • Perfect cork. Deep, clear maroon red. Fruity and savoury nose of red and black berries, graphite, cedar, new leather, dark minerals and an overlaying black currant aroma. Initially very tight on the palate. Dessicating tannins, medium-full bodied, ripe fruit extract, balancing alcohol and good acidity. Piercingly dry on the palate. Similar flavours as the nose but more black than red berries, graphite, cedar, stone dust and cedar bark. Way too younge and tight, but all the elements are there for it to flesh out and be lovely with more time. Leave this one for at least another 5 years before dipping in to it again.
