Spanish Introduction (Dan Murphy's, Lane Cove): Savoury, plummy black fruit, sweet spice, a little oak. Juicy, savoury, plenty of woody textured but tight grip, dark hued fruits, a little plummy note. <shrugs>

NobleRottersSydney - Yarra Yering (Fix, St James, Sydney): {screwcap, 13.5%} Youthful nose of blackberry and spice. Prickly, spice palate, a touch stalky and green somehow. Light/medium weight, with moderate oak, chalky medium tannins and a short medium finish. Doesn’t seem like much wine for $130, despite a fairly evenly balanced palate.

Very feminine wine. Soft berries, violets, good medium weight. Lingering violets on the finish. Agree with previous posters - there's a perfumed aspect to this which is really unusual and lifts the wine. Lots of body - a wine built to last years, but it's delicious right now. Best Yarra shiraz I can remember

A highly perfumed nose of briary fruits, floral spice, menthol and black pepper. The perfume flows onto the palate and it is wine that delivers a power packed punch of flavour, without an ounce of excess fat. It is light on its feet, impeccably balanced, fine and long.
