It was great to get folks together after we had to cancel last year because of the ‘Rona.
Only one tired and faded bottle.
Only one corked bottle.

Racy lemon curd, Coriander, menthol, Freshly cut mixed herbs, Nice acidity. Wonderful Chevy.

Very full Fourrier mouthfeel, Monster dark cherry with a little sweetness. Orange peel and lots of exotic spice. Fourrier really killed it in ‘01

From Magnum. Wow, total power, Dosage maybe a bit high for my palate, but that could integrate with the age this wine desperately needs. Tons of citrus and minerality.

Still super young with lots of funk from the Meunier, some reduction still with tart apple and a cool saline-like minerality. Absolutely delicious.

Fizzy? (I think over objections that there was a tiny bit of secondary ferm) Cherry, raspberry, more Roumier than Morey, but still forest air and some dark cranberry.

WOW, So much sweet perfumed spice in a basket of beautiful red cherries. Add in the multiple spice layers and the bright floral aromas wrapped in an explosion of pure power and you have WOTN, maybe WOTY.

A little tight at first. As the evening progressed it opened nicely with a great mix of tart and sweet red fruits with a kick of cinnamon. Great backbone, power, and length.

Linear/not layered with some floral (lilac) talcum, tight tannins and light fruit. Not sure it will improve but possibly a bit shut down. It did open up a bit as the evening progressed, but was not in the top tier of wines.

Rough rustic tannins. Primary with very little elegance from fruit or spice. Did not improve with air.

Lovely. Stemmy, lots of power but finesse without being too polished. Earthy mix of black and red fruits with juicy sweet tannins.

A baby but already delicious. All honey, candied orange and apricot, not tons of acid but just enough to cut the sweetness. Could be a monster

Youthful. Best one of these to date IMO. Mild reductive quality with a great mineral acid backbone and lots of tart lemon and green apple to add weight to floral aromatics. Great.

Mostly dark fruits, sweet leather, and dark tannins served with a large side of Brett! I don’t mind a bit of the funk so I loved it.

Dark and burly with dark rough tannins and fading fruit. The magic happens because of the amazing spice and graphite as this wine enters its next stage of life. Drink or HOLD.

Tar, blackberry, green herbs, a little Brett. Still very fresh and enjoyable but without the power and length of the other wines on the table.

This bottle seems to have a lower dosage than normal; I like it. Lots of backbone with a great linear streak of pure power through lemon curd, bright apple and wild herbs. Needs at least another decade but fun to taste now.

Chervil, iodine, integrated oak, quince fruit with a little peel, bright tangerine, bees wax with a whiff of kerosene in the finish. People who say that food and wine pairings don’t matter have obviously never had a pairing like this one. The wine combined with chef’s poached pear salad with arugula, blue cheese mousse, rabbit confit and toasted pepitas is on my top five list of all time mouthfuls. Unbelievable.

Lip curling tannins, lots of cassis, some blackberry. ABV noticeable, even more skin tannin on finish. While somewhat approachable, I would wait many years.
