Yum. Dark berries. Lovely, velvety mouthfeel. Coffee, chocolate and toasty notes. Smooth and easy to drink. Great addition to cellar and will please a wide range of guests.

Easy drinking this, hard to believe it has 10 years on it. Still well balanced and could go another 10.

Rough decant. Deep red/purple.
Light black cherry, opening up with air.
Palate was very acid on first tasting. Complex blackberry and mulberry fruits emerge with breathing though the acid is still high. I expect will be up there with the other Teusner wines I have from 2021 with 10 years under its belt.
Better balanced after 8 hours.

I was shocked by this wine.
Deep purple, almost black in colour.
The wine smells and tastes like it just came out of the fermenter!!! Chock full of fresh Shiraz fruit aromas and flavours. Blackberry and dark plum. It has a solid whack of French oak, but the wine takes it in its stride. Halliday (or his delegate) has voted it 99. Could be. It's so unusual that I find it hard to predict its path. I have never seen a 3yo wine show such baby fat youthfulness. I figure it can't be a bad thing.
Next day shows a more developed flavour profile- still very youthful but reveals more of the true structure. A 6-pack is heading for my cellar. Will leave it until 2031. I recommend grabbing some if you can.

In the decanter an hour prior to drinking, drank over the next 3 hours. Ruby garnet, with an initial bitterness upfront again which faded after an hour or so. Another great Western Barossa example, enjoyable, holding up well, drink over the next 3 years.

Quite anonymous nose compared to the palate which has dense dark mature berries and sweet spices gives good complexity. Full body. Fresh acid with medium+ but discrete and well balanced tannins. Long finish.

Not full notes as drank in the airport.

Pronounced on the nose with lots of ripe black fruit - blackberry, black plum, black cherry, licorice, vanilla and charred wood.

Pronounced on the palate with high ripe tannins, nice acidity and finish.

Can drink now but has potential for aging.

Wish I could have had a second glass!

Earthy, mushroom nose. Elegant, rich, with a touch more sweetness and full bodied generosity than the 2017, which we drank in parallel, and which by comparison was drier, less fruity and slightly harsh. But without the 2013 I think we’d have been very happy with the 2017

Very dark deep red wine. This goes to its strength and depth of flavour. Dark berry chocolate and rich tannin. Will go another 10 years easy.

{cork, 14.5%} Consistent with previous. Big rich ripe fruit, not too raisiny. Plums, blackberries, hint of blueberry fruit. Soft dusty tannins, moderate oak, low/medium acidity. Medium length finish. Nicely balanced effort, probably deserving of more time.

Late night at home. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, bright ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of violets, fresh animal meat, ripe strawberry, dark red cherries, black cherries, blackberry. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, just about high acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), soft plushy medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, savoury fresh earth and freshly killed animal meat with blood, sweet ripe dark red cherries, black cherries, blackberries, sweet spices and a touch of licorice. Sweet savoury medium+ finish
Very good quality. Great QPR and superb drinkability for a young Mourvedre. Such a unique expression of this varietal.

Nice and full bodied with an almost creamy texture. 100 year old vines - it shows. Deep and complex wine. High alcohol and ripe red fruit. There is definitely a hint of sweetness to the wine.

Had a weird craving I just had to give in to - a juicy red steak (cooked sous vide) followed by a nice glass of explosive marmalade fruit bomb. Normally I tend to favour wines with a more crisp and lean flavour profile. I don't like wines that are too jammy and sweet. But this wine is just pretty darn delicious. Drinking this wine almost feels as "wrong" as smoking water pibe - so sweet yet quite nasty :-) Black currant and black cherries. Sweet tobacco and sweet english liquorice, what's not to like? :-)

Had this bottle over 2 days....
Tried it in different Zalto glasses and the best seems to be Zalto Burgundy.
The wine doesn't show much on the nose , there are some faint notes from white pepper green apple.
Taste shows. green apple - red apple. The green apple is the more "sour" note where the red apple shows some slight sweetness.

The Teusner Mc Sparkling Shiraz 2017 displays a deep, dark color in the glass. The nose presents enticing aromas of plum and blackberries, along with subtle hints of spice. The palate is fresh, fruity, and rich, featuring balanced sweetness that emerges in the mid-palate, accompanied by chocolate notes. The lovely, long finish reveals hints of leather and chewy tannins, suggesting that this wine has the potential to develop further with time in the cellar. The 2017 vintage is known for its exceptional quality and concentration, making this Teusner sparkling Shiraz an excellent example of its kind. Dosage was kept relatively low.

A beautiful wine. Rich deep and brooding. Lots of menthol and heat on opening. Eventually opened up to display dark fruit, chocolate oak and cherry. A wonderful long length. A very special red from the Barossa.

If I’m being honest, I bought this because my wife liked the label, but this was a fun and certainly enjoyable wine.

Juicy, oaky nose of roses, strawberry jam, espresso and mint.

Fresh on the palate with modest tannins and pronounced acidity.

Flavours adds spicy clove, milk chocolate and a warm, alcoholic finish.

May evolve and soften over the next few years but very drinkable now.

Screwcap, 14.5% alc. Youthful, dark, burgundy colour with quite a lot of purple. Very fine sediment.

Interesting nose of malty oak, licorice, blackberry, pan juices, a tiny hint of Band-Aid? Plum, coal.

Medium bodied with fine dusty tannins still plentiful. Fresh and refreshing, and the high alcohol is nowhere to be seen. Fruity and savoury at once; a very good food wine.

Opinion: I tend to think of this as a cheap wine that’s taking up room in the cellar, but every time I open one, I’m rewarded. Quality GSM blend. Some over–ripe/baked flavours after three days open, but still enjoyable. Heavy bottle!

Fruit, texture and balance. This has jumped right out the blocks.

Nose is a riot of red fruits with some souk spices coming through towards the end.

Taste. An initial wave of red fruit, glacé cherries, straw and raspberries. The fruit sits atop a glorious acid and tannin texture like a plumb cushion. Musk and spice enter in the mid palate to form a heady exotic mix, but the acid and ripe but not insubstantial tannin framework just keep it balanced.

This is great right now but definitely has the fruit/acid/tannin balance to last 10 years+.
