-translucent light pale yellow, green tinge
-clean, creamy lemon
-med- acidity is just adequate, round yet focused at the same time, good depth if not overly complex, texturally elegant and soft but not flabby, some minerality, noticeable but not intrusive slightly caramel oak and a pronounced bitter streak on med length finish
-very good now with potential for improvement

-med almost semi-translucent red with minimal clearing at edge
-bright dusty red sour cherry
-higher acidity carries through the sappy and concentrated mid-palate of tart red berry, respectable depth, not overly complex, med tannins and touch of oak on moderately long finish
-solid quality Villages characteristic for the vintage and producer though wouldn't necessarily peg as a Vosne blind, in early drinking window

-translucent light/med gold
-moderately expressive, slight tropical, some salinity
-med acidity kicks in late, ripe yellow fruits, med+ concentration on med weight, silky finesse, very good complexity, barest hint of caramel on long finish, no overt oxidative notes as found on last bottle
-Grand Cru finesse, a bit on the ripe side, still with some upside

-mild bricking
-earthy, some maturing elements
-med acidity, med- weight/concentration, earthy cherry, not very complex, on mature plateau, picks up depth and complexity on Day 2
-OK but not noteworthy, less impressive than prior bottle earlier this year on Day 1 but really started to sing on Day 2

-dark almost ruddy red with faint purple
-dusty, earthy, funk, macerated cherry
-med+ acidity, med+ concentration on med weight frame, dusty cherry and earth, bitter/licorice moderate length finish, expansive though not deep, decent complexity, quite dense chewy tannins
-much more interesting than recently tasted '08 Pallieres

-nearly opaque but bright red with lighter rim
-expressive tart red fruits, cherry twizzler, kirsch, touch of earth
-med+ acidity, med- weight and concentration, cherry cough syrup medicinal component dominates, some heat and med tannins on finish
-nice aromatics but not easy to drink; less palatable than last tasted 18 months ago; some southern Rhones did well in '08; this is not one of them

PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs in sub-optimal glassware, difficult to evaluate but color was an opaque dark red/purple. Somewhat tight on the nose with a touch of black pepper and dark berry. Palate quite closed down but similar to recent Copain syrahs with good concentration without a lot of weight.

-semi-translucent bright lively red
-very aromatic spicy red fruits, dusty earth
-med+ acidity, lighter weight, crunchy/tart but ripe red fruits, somewhat bitter med tannins, fleshes out more on Day 2 with softer mouthfeel
-great bargain on the nose alone, not complex or profound but pleasing and correct, this should improve over several years

-inky opaque dark red/purple
-a little funk, very aromatic, rich ripe plum, violets, sweet bacon
-med acidity, dense, smoky, ripe dark fruits, earth, licorice, tar, med chewy tannins
-complexity and depth of a serious wine, was expecting an off-balanced fruit bomb but pleasantly surprised it is not entirely modern-styled, drinking well now with some structure to age

-mostly opaque dark red with slight purple
-somewhat closed, plum, pepper, dark toned
-med acidity, med- weight, tightly wound darkish fruits, bitter component carries through to finish, moderately elegant without tremendous depth
-stylistically Clos des Papes, darker fruit profile than some other '08s, quite closed down right now, needs time
