Well developed colour and nose having in mind it is a 2006 vintage. Dark berry fruit, dried roses, balsamico, some medicinal notes, tar, forest floor, mushrooms and wood. Suprisingly well evolved, balanced with good concentration, medium pluss acidity and still noticeable tannins. Good lenght and finish. Nice bottle despite somewhat dry and dusty. 2006 is in my opinion, not the best vintage from Cappellano.

Mature dark stone fruit, coffee, liquorice, tobacco, smoke, animals and eukalyptus. On the palate soft mature dark fruit, pepper, liquorice and leather. Nice and well integrated tannins and medium acidity. Nice length, tasteful, with a sweetly touch and beatiful finish. Juicy and enjoyable wine that is about to peak and consequently ready for drinking now.

From a 750 ml bottle. Aired half an hour in decanter, drunk in Zalto Burgundy glass. Floral, dark cherries, minerals and spices on the nose. Mature berry fruits, tar, coffee and some forest floor on the palate. Soft and elegant in the mouth. Nice acidity and well-integrated tannins even though they are still noticeable. This is an example of a vintage that are approachable and drinks well now but will still have a long life ahead. Served with red meat, creamy spinach, mushrooms and oven-baked potatoes. Excellent match.

Light red color. Perfumed nose, floral, delicate red fruit, almond, cherries, liquorice. Beautiful in the mouth, medium acidity and well integrated tannins. Obviously it lacks a bit concentration compared against Monprivato and Villero but still, what an elegance! This is as close to Burgundy as you can get with a Langhe Nebbiolo.

Closed at opening. Aired an hour in a decanter.
Tertiary aromas, medicinal, ripe dark fruits, plum, fennel, anise, licorice, coffee, tobacco, tar, followed by autumn leaves and forest floor. Volatile, smooth, elegant and soft in the mouth, yet an underlying impressive energy with layers on layers of flavours. It last for ever on the palate. Top bottle, tasted over three hours. Matched with reindeer fillet with port wine sauce, butter fried parsley, fennel, carrots and sprouts leaves.

Fjøstoner like etter åpning.

50+5+13+13+8 (89 p)

Reductive just after opening. Drank the bottle over two days. After some time in the glass, aromas of cherries, dried roses, tar, wood and forest floor appears on the nose. In the mouth sour sweet berry fruits, cedar, tobacco and forest floor. Medium plus acidity, quite hefty and surprisingly green tannins. Very good structure and length. Day two the fruit came more in the background whilst wood, humus and forest floor became more dominant. I miss the finer nuances that have been present in previous wines from Roddolo. Maybe this was an odd bottle. For me this is a pure food wine.

Light straw yellow color. On the nose orange peel, apple, pear, minerals and a hint of pineapple canned. Sweet and sour lime, somewhat tropical. Very untypical chablis. A little oily and creamy in the mouth, almost like a central Burgundy after some time in the barrel. Good acidity and good length. Actually difficult to imagine that this was a Chablis. Had not taken this in a blind test. By all means, no bad wine, just different.

Light brick red. Closed upon opening. After three hours in the decanter comes classic aromas of cherries, rose and tar. It gradually open up in the glass with scents of balsamic, licorice, forest floor and autumn leaves. Lovely acidity, nice texture and well-integrated tannins. Delicious mid palate with ripe, slightly sweet and sour, cherry fruit that last long and culminates with a great finish. Concentrated, somewhat powerful, yet elegant wine that can be further stored in the cellar but it's absolutely ready to drink now with good aeration. Tested in Riedel and Zalto Burgundy glass. In this case the fruit was more distinct on and the wine just felt more delicious in the Zalto glass.
