Drinking beautifully. A lovely, complex nose, excellent weight and length. Bright red fruit, sous-bois and saline minerality. I like this so much more than the Evenstad Reserve bottling.

bright, savory red fruit with hint of butterscotch when first poured. Seemed to gain weight in the glass as the evening went on, which I have never experienced in an Oregon Pinot before. By the end it was showing some spicier, funkier, almost northern Rhône like qualities. It is n great condition and should last another few years at peak.

This wine is aging nicely. Though it is definitely the most "un-Serene" of the wines they produced in '08, its simplicity is what makes it so good. Light-to-medium bodied, bright acidity and lots of fresh red fruit on the palate. Easy to pair with lighter foods or simply enjoy on its own.
I served this wine at a local winery to some friends including the wine maker. The opinion was a unanimous "Thumbs Up." Cherry and raspberry on the nose. Flavors on the palate include red plum, cherry, a hint of vanilla, with just the right amount of tannins.
Medium dark red; nice red fruit, young, vigourous; silky, smooth, light; nice, rounded, easy. Tasted with Serenes Mark Bradford cuvee - same year, while the Yamhill is fine, it does not compare with MB, which has so much more

This wine has an amazing nose, fruity and complex. However, upon tasting was disappointed. Fell a little flat with a pleasant but uninteresting simplicity. It's very drinkable, not bad in any respect, but not exceptional. I will probably hold on to the bottles and try again next year, but I don't have high hopes for this to mature and turn into something great.

At SALT in Juneau. Still young with fruit as intense as the tannins are big, and more extracted than I associate with this producer, but they've had an upheaval in the winemaking team and I sense that's what I'm tasting--my familiarity is all pre-change. At age 6, it's still very primary and a few years away from it's best showing, but it was enjoyable now and has the coverage needed in all departments to show spectacular in years 8 to 12, possibly beyond.

Popped and poured. Nice nose subdued cherries really nice. Little chocalete, nice amount of wood. Nice fusion with alcohol. Nice chocalete taste. Very floral nose strawberry taste and nose. Nice round flavors. A little vanilla flavor as well. A little manipulated, but overall enjoyable wine. Easy drinking.

So this is what cuvee Pinot should be. Pop and pour then consumed over the next three hours. Fruit forward without being a fruit bom; balanced and assertive without overwhelming dinner. Rich cherry nose. Some compexity in the flavors, mostly expressed through the evolving notes rather than presenting as a melange of contrasting notes. Some dusty tannins evident, providing balance and the assurance of continued life in the cellar.

OK, this may not be a DRC wine but, I believe this wine is under rated. It displays excelent balance without the over the top fruit that so many new world over achievers have. If you like the burgundy style this wine is for you. Nice soft cherry on the palate with just enough tannins to let you know the wine is still very much alive. A great value at the $40 range.

Pop and pour this, she's ready to go. An expensive fruit bomb with good complex value. Smells of fresh crushed ripe cherries, spicy rasp and cran berries, a touch of perfume and tea with toasted oakmanship. Did I say this wine is very aromatic? Indeed it is. Good balance and tons of red fruit on the sip. Good stuff.

Quite a difference two years can make. Light ruby color; intense nose with cranberry, raspberry, cherry cola, good complexity; palate has good acidic balance with fruit but still a tad shrill/acidic/thin, low tannin, nice red fruits especially raspberry, cranberry, less strawberry; finish is medium with nice fruits, finishes clean. Very good, integrated components (unlike my last taste), still mostly primary. Could easily go a few more years. 90

Very pleasing as you would expect from DS in a vintage such as 08. Pretty well balanced, nice strawberry-based fruit with some nice depth...but that siad, the price point for this wine has risen quite a bit above the quality of the bottle. Found the finish to be a bit short as well.

Overall a very solid, nice wine with dark fruits and a slightly lean, smooth texture. Nose is good, but a bit subdued, there is a touch of spice on the palate and a nice, fruity finish. Like prior bottles, nothing spectacular but very enjoyable.

Pretty decent but held back by being a bit bitter on the finish. Nose also not very expressive. Definitely has that more restrained Oregon thing and has a strawbery / raspberry flavor that is balanced with a nice spice touch. Just didn't carry that to the end.

Deep translucent ruby in glass. Bouquet offers up notes of red and black cherries, raspberries, loam, forest floor and wet stones. Sappy and juicy on the palate with generous ripe red berry fruit and with very fine grain tannins. We liked this a lot. Very impressed. On the higher price point for OR pinot but worth it.

AVTG does '08 Oregon Pinot Noir, blind (Alex and Molly's House): Tasted blind. Dark fruit, plum, and toasty oak on the nose. Full bodied and intense, with dark, berry fruit, dark cherry, and loamy earth notes on the palate, finishes with toasty oak and dusty tannin. Still very tight. Very nice wine, but would have guessed CA PN if I weren't tasting a flight of Oregon. My #2, Group #1 WOTN.

Very balanced Pinot. A mix of strawberry and tart cherry flavors with modest underlying tannins. I initially found the wine lacked body when it was opened, but the flavors and depth developed very well over two hours. If I drank this again I would let it breath for a couple of hours before consuming.

A wonderful nose of baking spice and red fruit. Light bodied, clean, and balanced on the palate with a fruit-forward character and good structure. I think this wine is showing very nicely, both on its own and with food (we found that it complimented a dish that featured chicken and blue cheese very well). Medium finish and good QPR.

Popped and poured. Lots of anise and baking soda of the nose. Very clean and fresh mouthfeel with tart cranberry and red cherry fruit to go along with very nice acidity. On the back end the fruit becomes a little sweeter with a hint of butterscotch and spice. The crisp finish is about 20 seconds or so. This is an extremely good pinot which is more Burgundian in style than many Napa pinots. Extremely good value at around $30-35. Has the structure to develop and drink well for several years. Drank just as nicely on day 2.

Lean with dark fruits - a typical Oregon pinot, but a very nice one. This continues to improve and has become more smooth, mellow and gained more depth and flavors. This is lean, but also rather smooth and seamless. Dark fruits with some spice. good grip and a medium finish. I really like this style as opposed to the typical overripe, rich California pinots.

Much more open and smoother than a bottle I had only a few months ago. Red and blue fruits with some spice and just a touch of earth. Nice balance with a smooth, medium texture, good grip and a typical of Oregon, slightly lean profile. This is definitely not a big, ripe California wine. While not spectacular, this is a solid, very enjoyable pinot.

Ruby red. Nose is red fruit and smoky incense. On the palate this has massive red fruit, rainier cherries, marionberry, slightly tart, with a mild tannic bite that gives the wine a dry feel. This doesn't have much in the way of secondary qualities I appreciate in a pinot, but the buckets of fruit in this bottle is impressive. After three days sitting out, this was still singing its tune. Very good quality.

I might ammend this rating later, the wine is just too young right now, but shows tremendous potential for such an affordable Oregon pinot. '08 is showing to be a great year already. Open and expressive earthy truffle and nutmeg, plum and cherry, vanilla, cigar box and sandalwood. Good acidity and sufficient tannin for a few more years of evolution. I would pair this with roasted game: Lamb, rabbit, duck, with a medley of seasoned roasted vegetables.

Showing a little oak heavy right now on the nose. med intensity aromas of chocolate raspberry liquer asian spices and tobacco.
Showing medium plus intensity flavors of plum, cocoa, grilled vegetable, and tobacco.
The finish is showing some bitterness which also clips the finish and the texture is not as soft as I am used to from this wine.
I think a few years of bottle age will brighten this up by shedding some of the heavier oak tones and rounding out the astringent tannin, buts for now its a bit too bitter and angular.

No formal notes, but definitely an improvement on the 2007 vintage. Red fruited, spicy, with a rich palate and enough acidity to balance it all out.

Light-med ruby color. Aromas of blueberry, forest floor, cedar and rose with a bit of alcohol. Light body with similar flavors and nice lingering finish.

It was ok. Pleasant, but nothing special.

PRIMA's Annual Pinot Noir Extravaganza: nose -cranberry, cherry
mouth - lively red fruit, and overall good acidity. a nice wine that lacks complexity or mouthfeel to make it into something more special.

A bit tight, tart and somewhat rough around the edges, but with good aromas & flavors of red & dark fruits. Seems like there is a lot of upside with more time in the bottle.

Great sense of fertile with muted fruit that worked really well. Great food wine that is harmonious and not overbearing.
