Great stage of maturity. Decanted 30 minutes or so and this wine was singing. Unbelievable QPR on this bottle. Drink now with air or hold for up to 10 years

Ruddy red color, dark core. Pencil shavings and ripe dark fruit aromas. Nice palate presence with mouth coating tannins that are mostly resolved. Good balance of fruit and tannins and enough acidity to keep it moving along. Not really blowing my mind. Drank over three days, it didn't improve or decline.

Our Friday night wine. Pop and poured. On the nose loads of terroir, earth along with loads of dark chocolate, red berries and tobacco. Feels mature, integrated and very masculine. Very left bank with cab sav dominating. Classic Bordeaux Left Bank nose. Ruby red colour. On the palette, everything feels right in place. Reminiscent of 2010 – balanced, finesse, structured and classic. Fresh with lots of interesting notes of terroir, red fruit and tobacco. The tannins are very mild. I had Château Glana a couple years ago and it also had similar 2010 characteristics. Of course, this has a lot of years left but probably in the early 20s in terms of life maturity.
Will let this one open up more before I take more sips but upon first impressions, it’s a nicely made enjoyable wine. Sum up in one word? Balanced. If you are seeking something along those lines, this will be one for you. I see the appeal from this producer.

quite youthful appearance not really showing 13 years of aging.
nose of dark soil, gravel, soft bramble and black cherry. palate shows again these soft savoury dark fruits, leather & tobacco, some dust and indeed fine integrated tannines. The wine finishes medium long in pleasant manner.
A nice wine with good complexity and substance opening up nicely after a 30 min decant. Quite fond of the reward after 10 yrs of cellaring this.

In terrific shape. Decanted for 90 minutes and was in fine condition. Fully mature yet plenty of life ahead. Tannins were fully resolved and all aspects of the wine were singing. I have always thought these 2010s were a step behind the excellent 2009 from this estate, yet now find myself wondering. Exceptional qpr.

Still surprisingly backward this had firm tannins underscoring a delicious confection of soft black & red fruits, plums and leather. Complex and well-balanced from the mid-palate onwards this revealed delicious mocha on an excellent finish. I couldn’t help feeling that there was plenty more in the tank and this will continue to improve over coming years. CHP 90 pts

This is totally in its drinking window, but lacks the beauty of 2009. That is a hard act to follow. In this bottle you find that sweet marriage of the perfect balance of fruit, wood, and terroir that are now working in harmony bringing you a cute and somewhat exotic experience when compared to traditional and austere single varietal wines. I always find a successful Bordeaux blend to reach a poetic point of being more of a potion than a wine. This one is there, but with the remaining fruit in the tank, this is as far as she can go. Very fun and cute. Drink

Very dark hue. On the nose sweet cassis and plums. Well evolved tannins that have fully resolved. Ready to drink. Fine example of a classic Cru Bourgeois. Like it very much. Drunk on its own. A steal for 9 euros.

A heady mix of blackcurrant and plum fruit infused with spice and supported with robust tannins which simply melt away. By the mid-palate the texture is silky smooth and I’m picking up notes of chocolate, mocha, menthol and graphite. Although savoury the fruit is ripe and sweet and the finish is impressive too. I found this fresh, lively and vibrant and couldn’t ask for more. Lovely stuff. CHP 92 pts

I don' t unterstand the many critical comments here. Yes, the wine is not overly complex and it may not be old style St. Estephe, but it is a mature medium bodied wine which is a lot of fun to drink also without food. Excellent value, wish I had some more.

Kept mostly under condition 2 (see my profile) since about 2013. Popped and poured. Color: dark purple-ruby, without an organge rim. In the nose some ripe fruit, smoke or wood, and a light herbal note. In the taste some fruit, which made it rather pleasant to drink with (vegetarian) food. On its own the tannins tasted "old", which dominated the fruit. Like with a recent other TN: drink up. With food 86-87, on its own 78.

Coravin fun - Random Bordeaux (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Polished, sweet spice, plums, a little bramble in support, very slightly meaty underpin, earthy notes, lightweight nose. Juicy, savoury black fruits, oaky support and mouth drying chalky tannins, fleshy, balanced, long, simple, again a little lightweight on the palate but nice.

A nice bottle although I wouldn’t run back to it. Bouquet is earthy and flavour dominated by black pepper and licorice. Flavours are subtle though and soft. Finish is light and quite dry.

One for fans of this type of wine. Very smooth, velvety fruit, ripe but not overripe, mostly fairly spicy blackcurrant, not unpleasant, but lacking in grip. Made in a very international style, so rather bland - it could have come from anywhere with a warm climate. It would have been nice to have just a little St.Estephe typicity but I suspect that Rolland consults here, so that would explain it.

Kept under condition 2 since about 2016 (see my profile). Nice cherry in the taste, with more resolved tannins and a bit more structure than last time, but also some mustiness this wine did'nt show earlier. A less good bottle or is this wine becoming to old? 87.

After a 1 hour decant, this $20 on release bottle was punching above that price. Black currant, black cherry, dirt / mineral / stone with some cedar and pencil notes. Cocoa shows up later. Some cranberry crunch tannins show up on the long enough finish. Now-2025.

Much of the tannins on this wine have resolved, and the nose has opened up a bit to reveal dark fruit mixed with red cherries. The wine is easier on the palate than 6-8 years ago, but I would actually say that some of the vibrancy and power has been lost. The wine hasn’t developed much complexity, but it is a bit more elegant than it was. It is a fine wine and a good value at the $25-35 price it was commanding 7-8 years ago when I bought a case of it, but it hasn’t developed the way I’d hoped. That being said, it still has more years left on it, so let’s see. 60% Cab Sauv / 40% Merlot.
Well made, structured Bdx. Dark red fruit, animal scents. A bit primal and primary but has good balance. Opened further on day 2. Not bad at all but nothing really exciting at this stage. Less aromatic than other 2010s. Will probably improve with further age. Want to see how it evolves but only have one bottle more. Will wait just out of curiosity.

Initially a whiff of struck match then cassis fruit kicked in beneath which were some firm tannins which soften out on the mid-palate and then develop into a sweet fruited and gentle oak finish. It revealed freshness, complexity spice and a little meat. I loved the structure and was delighted how this bottle showed. CHP 89pts

Another good outing for this vintage/wine. Fruit still fairly dominant over any secondary/tertiary flavour sensations and with the tannins soft enough to suggest new world; one might ask is this the first signs of climate change on St.Estephe.

Previous comments about dark fruits and espresso are pretty accurate. Sitting in the zone for enjoyable drinking. A short decant will help the nose and flavor profile to open up. Benefits some from pairing with food.

What a pleasant surprise from a wine I feared may be past its best. Pnp and was presented with lots of primary fruits on both nose and palate. This wine is still fresh and dare I say it young. There are soft tannins but on this evidence the vintage is for the long haul

Popped and poured. Opaque black-ruby. Already showing well on the nose, with lovely aromas of cedar and mulberry. Pretty. Very open knit for a St. Estephe of only 11 years of age. Rich, full but easy, with some pretty cocoa on the finish. Pleasantly surprised for a wine of this modest price. Just a tad bitter on the finish, but sheesh, that is a quibble. 4-12-16-8: 90/100.

Followed over 2 night2. More open and aromatic than expected on night one. More powerful and structured on night 2. Dark fruited, more blacks than blue, with some red fruit highlights. Espresso mixed in. Rather firm dry finish implying this could use some more time. Very enjoyable mid-tier bdx that's still young

Kept since about 2013, the first years under condition 1, about the last three years under condition 2 (see my profile). Very dark ruby-purple color. Nice mature nose. In the taste good fruit, nice mature notes and a good acidity. Still the tannins were not fully resolved. Clearly more develloped than last time. Quite some complexity. Very nice. When kept the way I have, this wine can be drunk now and at least next two years. 88-89.

Similar to previous notes, I'm not seeing a lot of change over the last 4 years in this one. Pencil shavings, oak, long finish. Its a solid wine. I didn't notice so much change from day 1 to day 2 in this bottle either. I enjoyed the bottle and I don't see it fading quickly, but I also don't see much room for additional upside on this. By the way, for the price of $26 the QPR is good.

Medium to dark ruby in colour with aromas of sweet black fruit, earth/forest floor & oak. On the palate, medium to full bodied tart black fruit, blackberry, cassis, oak/vanilla, earthy with medium to high acidity & high soft tannins. The finish is long to a chalky minerality & this wine probably could have lasted in the cellar another couple of years based on the present acidity & tannin content.

Several years later and I still feel like this was a stepchild to the great 2009. Its definitely improved a bit, but the fruit feels faded and the structure is very pronounced, with a long tannic finish. Maybe this is young for what it is and will kick ass in 5 years...I will wait. Theres little pleasure in drinking this now, so waiting is a great gamble, especially in larger formats. HOLD

The 2010 Chateau Lilian Ladouys is deep ruby in hue. Its aromas include leather, black fruit, and graphite. It is dry with medium alcohol, medium acidity, and high tannins. The tannins are nicely integrated after a 2 hour decant. The finish is long and leaves a pleasant mouthfeel. Very good!

From Coravin. Aromas of leather, baked earth, farmyard, meaty notes, plums and mushrooms, a little sweet spice, cassis and blackcurrant underpinning this. In the mouth it has juicy acidity and is quite dry; tannins are tight and drying, a little chalky textured with tarragon notes and a touch of bitter herbs. Quite mineral as well. Interesting.

This is not to the level of the multidimensional 2009. It has aromas of iron and chocolate infused blackberries, cassis, plums and spice. Its medium bodied a bit foursquare yet opulent black, blue and red fruits palate has nice freshnesss, a good oaky fruity middle and ends longish, fresh and dry. 14%. Needs 4-5 hrs aeration. Lay down 5 years.

This was a fantastic value Bordeaux from a great vintage. We opened this and it was full of notes of dark cherries, dark chocolate, and hints of eucalyptus. The palate is medium to full bodied, good depth, and a nice mouth feel. It has decent complexity and a great taste. We had this with home made pizza and pasta and it was a perfect combination. I am not much of Bordeaux drinker - but this was very pleasant, elegant, and overall delicious. Would absolutely buy again.

Very dark ruby core with a purple rim. Aromas of cherries, plums, roots, pencil shavings. Attack: crisp, under-ripe plums. Mid-palate: slight buttered toast, cocoa powder. Finish: dusty soil and cedar. The fruit flavors are pure and dominate the palate, but the wine is still earnest. This is still bright and young. Thick body and long length.

Just reaching its stride. A no nonsense cry bourgeois delivering good driving at a sensible price. This should go easily for another 5 years. Drank alongside a similarly aged Rioja and one of our party declared that the Ladouys was like a sophisticated urbanite compared to a swarthy farm hand for the Rioja - very different both both have their charms!

Very pleasant, with an intoxicating nose that perhaps didn’t quite meet equal expectation on the palate but was still enjoyable in terms of depth of fruit and notes of pencil lead. It wasn’t too grippy either to drink on its own having left the bottle open a couple of hours. There’s still room for secondaries to develop here so I’ll look to crack a bottle each year or two to see how it progresses but this is good to go now to enjoy the fruit.

From magnum. This was very attractive and matched my expectations, especially relative to the '09. The '09 is a little deeper and more plush. This '10 is lighter in structure but has more acidity. It's drinking great now and no need to age more really. Can't believe this magnum was a mere $38 after tax. I've bought more of this in some other vintages - always a great price/quality ratio for an everyday Bordeaux.

1st of 12 and it‘s not a slam dunk. Nose is closed at first, and the taste a little stewed, with a bleached paper aftertaste. After two hours it smooths out, but even after day two it doesn't quite feel fully integrated. After a while, the taste improves - at least the opening does - but the finish continues to be clunky. Goes better with food than on its own. This is fine stuff for $20, but the 10 Senejac (also $20) is better right now. Let's see how it develops.

Lovely, classic claret, with wild cherries and cedar on the nose and the same, plus lush richness, on the palate. Of course a little more of all this would be even better, but for $25, this is as good as it's going to get. There's still plenty of development left in this, but my case will be gone long before the evolution is complete. Those who have some left in 2025 will be pleased.

From Coravin. Leather, blackcurrant, sour plum, pencil shavings, slight pyrazine, smells 'crunchy', slight meat/blood notes. in the mouth it's juicily wet, tannins are slightly drying, talc textured, medium minus intensity flavours of blackcurrant, cedar and leather. Medium plus length. Drink now or in 3-5 years for me...

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, black currant (cassis) and oak. Some gamey meat, matchstick, smoked meat and dark fruit on the nose. Smells full on the nose but is leaner on the palate. On the palate it's got some spice and higher acidity to keep everything balanced. I liked this wine quite a bit, interesting stuff.

Mostly kept under condition 2 since summer 2013 (see my profile). The nose was quite subdued. Taste: redcurrant, cherries and maybe plum, with still quite astringent tannins and a nice acidity. With 14% the amount of alcohol is too much for me. Above all the freshness of the fruit made this wine attractive. At the third day some fine herbal and mature notes and less tannins. I recognise what other TN-wirtiters mentioned: the impression of too little concentration. But to my opinion it seems more the loss of a part of the taste as a whole - if you understand what I mean. It maybe will be better after some more years of keeping for resolving the tannin, but already attractive now. For now 87(-88).

Solid Bordeaux, the color is dense and purple, not too deep, quite nice. The wine was better on the second day, more layers I thought than the first day. This is a sort of mineral profile to this one that isn't my favorite, but still a solid Bordeaux.

Coravin - Readiness to drink (Kennards, Waterloo): FRom Coravin. Blackcurrant, cream, plum and jubey cherry, a certain rocky rusticity as well as some polished oak. That cherry note is more dominant on the palate joined by grippy chalky tannins that travel long. Still very primary but sufficiently balanced to be approachable now. Yum.

: Fine decent nose. Blueberries, blackberries, some leather. Elegant, fleshy wine. Still young but entering an adult phase. I’ll drink my next bottle next year.
Second day at its best. So give it a decent decant....
Nose: at the first day not much of a nose, at the second flowery and nice red and dark fruit. Taste: only after an hour really opening up. Mostly dark fruit with elderberry. OK acidity. Quite soft - probably because of the 50% merlot. The tannins still were a bit astringent. The finish was slightly spicy. Medium bodied. Lacked a bit of concentration, but as a whole quite attractive. At the second day more concentrated, but the tannins still were a bit astringent. To keep in the cellar for (half a year until) one year. For now: 87-88.

From memory a while back; ripe black fruits, some medium gritty tannins, not too coarse; perhaps a bit in the new world fruit-forward style but with a faint rustic edge about it. Maybe a touch baked even; dry; some more time won't hurt. Medium body, short-medium finish. Decent semi-generic Bdx.

Half-Bottle: This was more linear and long and Bordeaux like than the Napa Valley meets Bordeaux style 2009. It had full-on aromas of chocolate, iron, minerals, black raspberries, plums and blackberries. Its medium to full bodied velvety and plush palate has impressive density in a more linear style with striking acids and good oak. Ends long, fresh and tannic. Tannins and acidity need 5 years+ to round out. Improves into the second day on. Needs a couple of hours aeration. Impressive but too early to drink this yet. Excellent QPR at just over 20 Euros. 14%.

Overall, given the pricetag ($38) I was a little disappointed. Not bad, but nothing special either. None of the complexity of a decent base St Julian in a similar price range. Juicy blackberry fruit, smooth, almost velvety, but quite boring overall...something the British refer to as a "Fat Bastard", wines from warm, vintages with high alcohol but lacking complex notes.
Wine needs some air. Nevertheless the wine has some some harsh edges. Not confinced at this stage. No comparison with the 2009 vintage which was superb.
Second day the wine was much more developed. Fine young Bordeaux. Give it a decent decant or wait some more years.

Drank over two days and it showed very well on both. Forward in style, backed by distinctive terroir. Juicy, expansive, and gripping, well structured, with fine ripe tannins adding depth to the finish. It would have been better at 13 to 13.5 abv. Did not find any of the bitterness that showed in last bottle on the second day. The wine should evolve for another five years and last through 2025-2028. Delicious!
Having tasted three bottles now, it seems there is variation.
The bottle was opened one hour before the tasting. Wine was very closed on the nose. Although tannines are ripe and pleasant. I suppose this wine should be left for one more year in the bottle.

Creosote, kirsh, anise, dark berry medley and lilies. Decanted for four hours; there's an iron note during the echoing finish. Although there is a rawness to it, with a little rusticity, the glorious fruit shines through. Velvety tannins that are evident, but not negatively so. She is worth a proper study and still intergrating. Not your typical St. Estephe, yet quite enjoyable. Drink 2019 - 2036.
This has become one of my favorite wines ever. Maybe it is just me. It has great power and structure and should become even better with more age. At present it needs a minimum 45 min decant and can probably take much more. Very drinkable now if decanted but I am looking forward to much more based on the massive tannins. Went and bought another case...

This bottle is way too young to pop right now. I'd say another 5 years may not even be long enough. The acidity is through the roof, tannins are as tight as a drum. I suspect this will be very good at some point, but just not right now. (92pts for what it can be, not what it is)
Dark red, with small core and small transition. The nose is small and short, but has some dirty tones. Balanced palate with a thin first touch.Feels a bit watery. Medium length and flavor based on dark fruit.

This 2010 seems more Bordeaux-like if you will than the 2009, which was very rich and fruity. The 2010 is more restrained and leaner, though there is still good concentration to the fruit. A good amount of acid and fine tannin, too. Accents of dust, mint, and a little oak. I like it and suspect it will get more interesting with age.

Decent value wine. Needed to breathe for a bit. It probably needs 2-3 more years. Nose was floral with a hint of blackberry jam. Front end was a little thin due to the wine being tight but mid palate had a nice acidic balance with a good blend of versions black fruit. The fruit opened up nicely on the finish with black cherry, rose, and a nice blend of red and dark fruit. As it opened up, the tannins softened and it became more fruit forward. I would but again at the mid $20 level.

Based on other recent tasting notes for this wine I can only guess that mine was slightly tainted. On opening there was a massive wall of tannin which dissipated with some decanting so that the (still very) primary fruit started to show but it never lost its slightly stalky, bitter edge. I've enjoyed this wine in other vintages so I'm going to put this down to bad luck.
Pop and pour...and this is nicely complex, aromas of earth and stone, flavors of dark fruit, earthy, and really well balanced. On the second day this gets acidic. Similar experience to Motz's review. Completely consume this on the first day. My score is for the first day. Bought this for only $26.
This was absolutely delicious on the first day, with blackcurrant, peppers, cruciferous root vegetables, beets, graphite, coal, smoke, and minerals. It featured great acid and balance, a rounded mouthfeel, and a serious finish. A delightful 92 point wine...
...but it all went wrong on the second day with unbalanced acid and an off-putting, intensely bitter finish, akin to licking galvanized metal. Just awful!
Recommend finishing the bottle once opened. The wine will hold for several years but is unlikely to improve.
Nice deep red color with a slightly floral oak aroma. Dark ripe fruit flavored. Med tannins. Decantered 1 hour, probably could have used a year or two more in the cellar. Very good for the price. Would buy again and cellar longer.

This is definitely a high 80s, low 90s on a good day. The nose promised more depth and enjoyment than the palate ended up yielding, but was nonetheless an enjoyable wine. Worth trying if you get the chance, and probably has a good life ahead of it.

Very much enjoyed this wine. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a value wine from this great vintage. Great QPR. Popped and poured through Vinturi - very approachable this way. A wine you can enjoy as the years pass without feeling guilty when opening it.

Weekly tasting group #169; South Africa vs France (@ The factory by MN): In the bouquet dark forest fruits, sweet spices and a good dose of oak. On the palate ripe dark forest fruits, some bell pepper, firm acidity and sticky, drying tannin. The oak is not fully integrated yet. Wait until 2019 or 2020 or a few years longer. The wine did not really impress this evening. 87+
Just as soft as the 2009, with flower shop aromatics but without the mid plate umph and finish of the 2009. Never the less, nice and approachable. I think that this will peak in about 3 years...For the price difference, the 09 is definitely the way to go.

{cork 14%} I was worried that the wine seemed to have penetrated almost to the top of the cork, this made me even more sensitive to what seemed to be the slightly baked qualities which suggested hot storage in the wine's past, but then an overload of light TCA made itself apparent; gently musty on the nose but quashing the palate almost entirely. Very sad, but hopefully unrepresentative.

medium+ depth garnet, purple hue. dark fruits and nice oak nose. fine grained tannins, medium bodied, good balance between fruity and woody flavours. dark chocolate and pleasant spicy oak. medium/long savoury creamy finish. good QPR Cru Bourgeois, reflecting the exceptional vintage.
Really enjoyed this wine. Very pleasant nose. Flavors of blueberry, plum, and even a hint of raspberry. I opened and put in decanter 3 hours before dinner. Served with baked chicken, and it paired very well. Wish I had more!

I'm sorry I don't have more of these. A great QPR at low $20's. These kept getting better. Wonderful nose, especially at open, although it fades after a while. Good fruit and tannins, holds up to heavier dishes. I drank with baked chicken legs and it was a good match.

Popped and decanted for an hour. Aromas of ripe boysenberry and leather, it's new world-ish on both the nose and palate. Flavors of boysenberry and light tar up front, with a hollow mid-palate and simple finish dominated by oak.

Nice wine. Very dark ruby, nearly opaque. Good legs. Fine black fruits in the nose. Fairly rich. On the palate, firm, fairly ripe, good grip and length. A bit oaky and tannic, but that should become nicely integrated in time. 4-12-15-8: 89/100.

This is true value Bordeaux that delivers. Under $25 and solid. The wine is from St. Estephe, and delivers signatures of the appellation and 2010 vintage. The wine displays a lot of herb notes on the nose, but i didn't get the blue fruit notes that some critics and other members posted. This wine has red currant, black cherry, mineral - chalk, spice, herbs, and cedar. WE gave it 94 points, which is a little crazy, but this A+ quality at this price point from Bordeaux for a solid Cab/Merlot blend. Great house wine, that will be fun to drink over he next five years. With a lttle aeration the wine picks up that Bordeaux creaminess.

Tasted at Total Wine in McLean, VA on July 18, 2014. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. My second time tasting this and seems to be a little better than when I tried it 6 months ago, but don't think its worth $40/bottle.
Concentrated bouquet of gravel, integrating oak, bramble, ripe blackberry, blackcurrant, black soil, and minerals. Powerful and juicy attack, potent yet unsettled mid palate showing gravel and graphite. Strong finish.
Overall, very young and somewhat volatile. Perfectly drinkable now, but it should improve with a few years of cellaring. Somewhat reminiscent of the 2010 Chateau du Retout, but not as defined or rounded. Would happily sip it all day. 90-91.

About a 6+ hour decant....Eye: Deep purple core that was opaque with a violet rim. Nose: Black currant, cassis, hint of blueberry and of course some oak. Palate: Integrated soft tannins with flavors of Black fruit, espresso, dark chocolate with a medium plus finish.
Nice blend and drinking well now, enjoy.

A powerful aroma of floral, smoke, dark fruits and wet pepper. The palate has gripping tannins but still pleasant with rich sweet cherry mixed with vegetable, and bitter chocolate. Interesting combination that makes this wine appealing to me. Hold for 2 - 5 years.

A typical bordeaux. but a little on the lighter side. Weak nose, and medium red color and partly transparent. Taste is pleasant, with some fruit and tannin, but not too much character. Easy accompaniment to most meats.

Interesting trying to compare this vintage to the 2009. The 2009 may drink better but the 2010 is different if not a little superior to the 2009. A earthy blackberry taste. subtle tannins and balanced.

As expected, a young wine with solid fruit and moderate tannins. Cherry and a little alcohol on the nose.
Solid fruit with good complexity with cherry, blackberry with some wood flavoring. This needs at least another 3+ years, but has good potential. Good now, will be even better with some age.
Good value for the money, but needs some time.

purple upon pouring. Yummy. A good bottle of wine for the price. Don't expect all the wonderful nuances of good bordeaux bottlings but very good for an affordable price. I would buy more. I had Poitevin, this one and Le Thil as my three budget bordeaux bottlings from 2010. The Poitevin is the best (although mostly merlot where this is mostly cab). This was my second best and the Thil I could easily skip.

Toasty and dark red fruits and medium tannins. Not much on the nose. At this point the 2009, as it keeps the nose interested. Hopefully, the 2010 will be a little more interesting for the nose with a couple years of cellaring.

Rated a solid 90 with deep purple color and fairly complex nose of alcohol, pepper, blackberry and pleasant mustiness. This wine is endowed with a medium tannic flavor the mellows with time and also displays a crisp, clean blackberry and cherry fruit taste with wooded and tobacco overtones.

Twice decanted, ten hours before drinking. Color: deep purple. Nose: fruit and remarkably strong flower. Taste: good fruit, leather. Mouthfilling, fine, drying tannins that partially overwhelm the taste of the fruit. Medium (to full) bodied, medium finish. At the third day still rather tannic, a little bit further evolved with black and some red fruit in the nose as well as an animal note. Black and some red fruit also in the taste with some coffee, cocoa and leather. Good concentration, quite fresh. I expect this wine to evolve into a very good wine, that might become even better than the highly rated 2009. To keep for at least three years, I guess. Potentially 88-90.

A lot of toasted oak in the bouquet and also black fruits beneath is. On the palate the same. The dark fruits are round and creamy. In this stage the oak is still quite dominating, but there is also good acidity, sticky tannin and a touch of sweetness. When everything integrates nicely this will be a beautiful wine and for below $25 probably a bargain. Much better than the barrel sample I tasted a year ago. My guess is that around 2021 it will enter (early) maturity. For now 89 and potential for a bit more.

Much better on day two.. nose still has hints of vanilla but a lot more rasberry / medicine / chocolate notes.. def has some tannins but ripe.. i like this.. I think I def prefer the nose of the 2009 but I sort of think this one is more approachable now.. The 2009 I think will outlive this one but again thats just me.. I'm enjoying this one regardless.. 90-92 once oak soothes.. oh ya go buy this at Total Wine & More.. They already have tons of 2010 arriving!

Cask sample. Tasting this after Chasse Spleen and Poujeaux this wine is rather disappointing, certainly considering its location between really great domains. Fruity alright. Firm acidity and tannin but all a bit unripe as far as you can say that in this beautiful vintage. Just medium bodied. I don't know any details, but I think the vineyard has much more potential. (Maybe the wine as well, but at this moment I cannot taste it.)

Lilian Ladouys, located close to Lafon Rochet on sand and gravel soils, this vintage was produced from a 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. The wine opens with stone, oak and blackberry aromas. Medium bodied with light cassis flavors and dusty tannins are found in the finish. 89-91 Pts

Drink

Medium to dark ruby in colour with aromas of sweet black fruit, earth/forest floor & oak.
On the palate, medium to full bodied tart black fruit, blackberry, cassis, oak/vanilla, earthy with medium to high acidity & high soft tannins.
The finish is long to a chalky minerality & this wine probably could have lasted in the cellar another couple of years based on the present acidity & tannin content.

avec un peu de temps, sera mieux.

In the nose some licorice and coffee nicely integrated in the black Forrest fruit. Well balanced with good length. Can lie for some years but will it still improve a lot? Don’t know. And I never will. This was my last bottle.

Juicy blackberry fruit, smooth, almost velvety, but quite boring overall...something the British refer to as a "Fat Bastard", wines from warm, vintages with high alcohol but lacking complex notes.

This is definitely a high 80s, low 90s on a good day. The nose promised more depth and enjoyment than the palate ended up yielding, but was nonetheless an enjoyable wine. Worth trying if you get the chance, and probably has a good life ahead of it.

On the palate ripe dark forest fruits, some bell pepper, firm acidity and sticky, drying tannin. The oak is not fully integrated yet. Wait until 2019 or 2020 or a few years longer. The wine did not really impress this evening. 87+

Smell: goat cheese, rind, farm/hay, woody, Raisins, ripe berries
Mouthfeel: light to medium
Taste:nail polish esque, black cherry finish astringent.
After decanting it tasted better and now I'm confused and buzzed.

Noté 85 et vraiment déçu car ce vin présente généralement un excellent rapport qualité prix.

Firm acidity and tannin but all a bit unripe as far as you can say that in this beautiful vintage. Just medium bodied. I don't know any details, but I think the vineyard has much more potential. (Maybe the wine as well, but at this moment I cannot taste it.)
