Fruit was stewed, had to dump it. Hoping last bottle has made it. This would be a long time for an Albarino to age, I have always drank them within 2 years...not surprised this one was gone

Aperitif for a night that was focused on Spanish wines. Had this with our cheeses and olives.
Consistent with prior notes: Light gold. Lemon, bright citrus and ocean air on the nose. Interesting balance of citrus, tart fruits, and oyster shells/minerality.
Crowd was split on this wine - Albarino doesn't always hit the mark with those looking for a bigger white...

Brought as a starter to Lauren's party. Albarino is always great in the Summer. Good opportunity to open these for a group of friends, some of who are ABC (Anything but Chardonnay) for their whites...

A hit with the European tasters. Great QPR on this wine

Please refer to 12-9-12 for a more formal tasting note, which still applies. This wine paired exceptionally well with seared rare tuna with wasabi and ginger, accompanied by roasted mixed vegetables and yam. It's an excellent albariño with a complex of northern and tropical fruit notes, balanced acidity and nuance of sweetness, and a nice finish.

Some of the classic albarino grassy-ness overshadowed by lemon/pineapple notes. For me, this was too tart and acidic for an albarino; perhaps more appealing to a sauvignon blanc fan, or would be better with some food to complement it.

I didn't taste this, but my wife (who is somewhat sensitive to the effects of alcohol) and our friend (who enjoys wine) polished off a bottle with great relish and no ill effects the next morning. Thus, a great QPR at $15 and one that I will seek out.

I bought this because I wanted something different, I had never heard of this grape, and it had a pretty label. The gamble paid off, and we loved the wine. Recently I have found that Spain has some fantastic bargains, and at $14 this was an outstanding buy. The wine paired fantastically with herb gremolata encrusted cod. I'm looking forward to trying more Albarinos.

Customer Appreciation Tasting (Bin 75): Normally drink this very chilled, but tasted when it was room temp and the honeyed notes that developed were intoxicating along with the crisp acid; always a fan of this wine.

Pnp. Pale Straw color. Slow legs. Smells of Tart Apple, Pear, Lemon and Melon. Tastes of Tart Apple, Pear and Lemon. Excellent bright balance. Medium finish. 12.5% ABV. Excellent QPR. More structured than the 2010. This is drinking very well right now.

Pale color, pleasant nose. On the palate it seemed to lack crispness and there was even a hint of sweetness. Fairly neutral wine that paired well with a shrimp dish, but didn't really seem to have a lot going for it, other than the fact that it was not objectionable in any way.

Weather broke today, thinking of Summer, decided to crack one of the great Summer wines...Albarino is great with light fare in warmer weather
Light gold. Lemon and citrus notes (my daughter picked this up immediately) on both nose and plate. good acidity, will have it pear well with seafood and grilled chicken. Medium finish. Great QPR, paid $14 for this wine
Another taster noted "ocean air", which is spot on - I would have missed this without the reference. Summer is here soon...

Very pale golden color. Modest nose of white peach, hints of green banana, and notes of tropical flowers. Flavor follows nose, all in excellent balance with subdued yet mouthwatering acidity and a medium finish. (Think of this as a subdued sauvignon blanc.) It's an ideal apéritif and paired beautifully with wild-caught sockeye salmon. Excellent QPR. Stock up on this one.

Clean and clear with a touch of light straw, muted stone fruit aromas, with some sea air on nose. Opens with notes of lime, Meyer lemon with wet stone and sea salt. Bracing acidity and a sharp finish. Definitely a pairing with briney shellfish or salty cheeses is indicated, and not your basic cocktail wine aperitif. Old-school and very well done.

EYE: yellow straw, clear. NOSE: green apple, linalool and a touch of stone. PALATE: bright Granny Smith apple with a touch of yellow stone fruit (peach and apricot) and minerality. Medium body, acidity and finish. Nice QPR, paired well with scallops and pesto (citrus & acid cut the cream). First thing that came to mind on nose and palate was "Green Apple Jolly Rancher Candy"

Nose of green apple skin, peach, pear, and salt water. Very good. Light and refreshing, great with a multitude of foods (had with a spicy, creamy salad!). A truly great daytime sipper. The palate is green apples predominantly, with some stone fruit, and grapefruit, with a fair amount of acid. Hints of minerality abound; one can taste the seashells. This is listed on Cellartracker under three different names, unfortunately. One wine, La Cana Rias Baixas Albarino 2011.

Citrus and a slight scent of peach on the nose. Citrus, pit fruits and a hint of pineapple flavors are present, with a sophisticated well balanced dry finish. Would go nice with seafood or poultry.
