Consistent with my previous note. Also as others have noted, this one needs an hour or so to burn off an initial sulfur smell and start to start to show itself.

nose: brambly raspberry, sugarcane, but mostly a ton of penetrating spice
palate: bright cherries/red fruit. theres a bit of sweetness but my mouth is getting acid-raped. kinda light in body. decent rough tannins. good medium finish of oak and almost overwhelming spiciness.
very aggresive. i dont really like this style but theres nothing wrong with it. maybe in a couple years it'll soften enough.

An impressive not-expensive wine ($10). Medium to full body, fruit forward with blackberry predominating along with raspberry but balanced with pepper and spice, plus some licorice at the back end. Lingering finish – longer than expected at this price point. I’ll be getting more of this one!

Briar and a touch of blueberry on the nose- some spice- clove-cinnamon like. Medium bodied some tannins. A great quaffing wine at the 9 $ price level. Always consistent vintage to vintage- Bogle continues to put out value wines.

Retail $13. PLCB Price $10. I saw this right when I walked into the store and grabbed it, figuring I would put it back once I found a better option/value. I never did. For me, it is tough to beat Bogle in the price range–sure, they are a huge producer and their wines might lack the character of the more expensive single vineyard or boutique wines. But for the buck? These, along with the Cline portfolio of wines are solid options for everyday drinking. Good fruit and balance if lacking a bit of complexity. Good. 85-87 Points.
This wine is embarrassing me back to my tasting roots of being a Zin lover. In my younger days, I was a Zin lover first, and have since broadened my palate in every dimension I can find. It has an unashamed, fruit forward presence. The color is lip staining purple. The nose is blueberry preserves with a steely minerality. The palate is dry, but the fruit tastes sweet, and that is the gift of Zin. Packs lots of fruit flavor in a medium, bodied platform. There are some enhancing secondary flavors like wet leather and an herby, steel like minerality. The finish is so typical with a layers of red and black fruit, backed up with some spicy cinnamon.

Popped and poured, drank over 2 nights. Opaque garnet color. Cherry and raspberry fruit on the nose. Really fruity on the front of the palate. Thin mid-palate and not much of a finish, but if you are looking for an inexpensive red with good fruit and spice, it isn't bad.

3 hours later this has grown on me...the banana quality is gone. More classic fruit forward profile with dark, casis like fruit with the acid/tannin present. Overall decent Zin, for price and would suggest to buy some and sample fall of 2013. Will do same.

Maybe 88 in another 1-2 years. Is a reliable producer, and one that i like to sample as new products come out. Have read other notes, most don't have any description.
I think minor flaw here, after i've done some more wine research. Even after 1 hour decant, for me there is clear nose of a lightly candied banana quality. Clearly! First time. Mixed with standard bright but mellow cherry fruit.
Seems like this can be associated with fermentation that is cooler than ideal. Related to acetyl something or other that i can't find again! Can see in young Beaujolais as well. Overall not a terrible thing.
Palate is not Banana like to be clear! Nice somewhat round bright cherry/blackbery fruit with decent and balanced acid/tannin. Finish is long. Similar and not overly complex.
First thought would be this is young and has a few years left, but back to the banana, seems like this may also predict a shorter shelf life. Regardless, I would buy a couple more for the price and sample over next 2 years. Enjoy.

Fruity, a little on the light side, hollow at midpalate, not much finish. Rather spicy nose. Just okay. Didn't see anything that would make me want to buy this again.
