Translucent ruby color. Nose of fresh musky berry, pine scents, saline, feral violets. Layers of sharp, bright, warm red berry fruit on the palate cut with cinnamon, dark plum, and earth on the satin-textured palate. Freshening acidity and moderated tannin. Long finish of red raspberry, cherry, and integrated ferric granules. A superlative showing.

What a lovely wine. Silky, elegant. Very pretty on the nose (for me this is what Pinot Noir smells like), with raspberry and a bit of… uhm… deliciousness. Follows right in into the palate. Long finish, nice acidity. Yum.

Tasted single blind. Grasses Cru. Open one hr prior to tasting. Little sign of age. Smidge of bricking on the rim. Energy, primary, silky, elegant, suave, long, captivating. Dark and light red fruits, spice. Bouquet showed generous fruit. Touch of vanilla in the mid palate and grapefruit rind on the finish. Was a pleasure to hold in the mouth. 94+.

Red cherry, sous bois and spiciness on the nose and palate. Still very fresh, so smooth on the palate. I recall enjoying the taste profile on the '08 a hair more, but this is a great pinot.

Still quite good, but fading a bit from the last bottle. Crimson color in the shrinking middle with almost translucent meniscus on the brick less edges. Distinctive and strong aromatics of black cherry, terrior and white pepper on the nose; less distinctive flavors on the palate, but still plenty of tart black cherry fruit, dried tobacco and garden herbs. Short, dry and satisfying finish. Drink up - not much left.

Lovely red rose color with a pink meniscus. Unmistakable Burgundian style by way of Oregon. Fabulous aromatics of sour black cherry, raspberry, baking spices, rose petals and a hint of root beer; more primary on the palate with red berries and root beer and a bit or terroir. Good acidity but a round, flavorful, medium long finish. Quite good and drinking well at the moment!

Wonderful bouquet, light color, medium body, intense fruit with earth flavors, slightly bitter tannins, serious wine, not a quaffer, complex flavors, drank with leg of lamb and baked clams, last bottle, the bottle tasted aged but fresh, probably won’t be able to taste again.

Hints of chocholate, lots of parfum, dusty ripe red fruits and hints of black currant. Opening over the meal with waves of fruit, toasty barrel, parfum. Super fine entry, hint of sweetness. Becoming sweeter and more barrel influenced with plenty of fruit to carry it to a loooong finish. Finish is hints of chocholate, fresh fruits, slightly candied notes. Laurene delivering again! Also would suggest this wine will go 6 more years.

Ripe black cherries, balancing acid is welcome, nice wood sting, low tannin. Very tasty. For me, this is peaking now and I'll enjoy our last bottle this year or next. The Willamette Valley 10s' continue to impress.

This is very good and still very young. The nose is still quite primary with fresh, but ripe red berry fruits, baking spices, and mineral note, violet, and just a hint of earth. The palate is full of fleshy ripe fruit and spice with just a hint of mineral. Still structured, but with juicy acidity. This will easily age another decade and likely 2. Very enjoyable.

Slowly coming round to a softer, more integrated presentation. Less cherry than before (which is good in my book), with smoky sweet aromas that add rather than subtract from the overall profile.
Still developing, but I think these should be consumed within the next 3 years.

This wine hit on all cylinders, initial taste tannin then great fruit, then balance with lots of complex flavors and a good finish, the best part is the earthiness or terroir that is missing from so many wines, this wine is the complete package, not sure it will develop much more, I thought we were drinking the regular bottling of DDO 2010 but my wife pointed out it was the Laurene, drank with roasted turkey and all the trimmings, have one more bottle. This is what Pinot Noir can and should be.

Great color, fabulous perfumed bouquet, fruit balanced with tannin, earthiness but lots of flavor and complexity, medium bodied but delicate, the finish is a bit short but the bouquet goes on and on, drank with rack of lamb, will drink again.
This was lovely and one of the best PN's I have had from Oregon in recent memory. The nose reminded me a lot of the 2010 Evening Land La Source PN, with a little less depth. I think this wine will get better with time assuming that it can gain a little weight. Excited to try this again in a few years.

Oops, Allen Meadows gives a drinking window for the 2010 Laurene starting 2020 -- I'm a mere 5 years off! That said, this wine is certainly drinking well right now. It helps to put yourself in the context of the Willamette Valley and not Beaune, no matter what the PR folks at Domaine Drouhin will tell you. This pinot is unmistakably American but with more poise and refinement. The fruit is still a tad heavy on the mid-palette with overtones more of wood than earth but overall the wine is well integrated and balanced. This is a much better showing than other recent tastings of Domaine Drouhin wines.

For fun im comparing this to a Jos. Drouhin Beaune 1er cru '09 I recently rated. The Oregon version is more fruit forward and has a nose of tart cherry and a little funk not evident in the French one. However the biggest difference is the finish. In the Oregon bottle tannin is the enduring sensation. In the Burgundian bottle a strong acidity sustains the finish, which is longer than its American frere. For a PN, I prefer acidity to tannin, thus I've scored the French bottle slightly higher. Nevertheless, this is a very good offering. Be sure to give it a little air.

Comparable in quality to Dusky Goose, which we tasted side-by-side. The Domaine Drouhin had a slightly more masculine structure and spices, while the Dusky Goose (2009) had a smoother mouthfeel and silky finish. Enjoyable. I would definitely get this again. Score [50 + 5 + 13 + 17 + 8 ] = 93

At Tao in NYC with some business colleagues. Second wine of the night with main courses - fish, chicken and tempura - not what you would pick as an ideal pairing but it worked.
Have had consistently good experience with this wine - no different here. PnP, started to open in about 10-15 minutes. Red fruits, raspberry, strawberry, cola, floral/roses/lavender. Medium bodied, long and layered finish. Drinks well now, will benefit from additional cellaring

Tasted in double-blind fashion, this deep ruby Pinot quickly reveals itself as a new-world offering. While the wine certainly shows excellent structure, its beautiful fruit gives it away. Aromas of raspberries, cherries, Asian spices and rose petals adorn the nose and palate. Fresh and focused, it wraps its flavors in a medium-bodied, moderately tannic frame with seamless alcohol (13.9%). The flavors build in the middle and the medium-weight tannins remain supple. Concluding with impressive length, this is a handsomely-crafted wine which should improve with additional cellaring. Drink 2015-2020.

Very tight on the nose and closed up; lovely velvety raspberry compote on the palate, creamy velvety texture. Spicy finish, quite confected red currants. Fine.

Visit to Willamette Vally (Oregon): Interesting nose of dried red and blue fruit with subtle baking spice. Lean and taught in the mouth. Like the tension and spice.

Drank in restaurant in Charleston, a friend brought the wine to dinner;fruity for a DD but solid PN; need to try it again.

Showed well on opening, then tightened up at the 30 min mark. An hour later, it began to open up again. Black cherry, spicy florals, and earth. Nice complexity. Needs time. 92+.

Very alluring start showing strawberry, raspberry aromas with licorice and roses. Similar flavors to start but very short, slightly hollow.

Great nose. More fruit then usual Willamette wine. Nice tannins. Mineral like a good burgundy. This is the second strong vintage I've had of this wine. Drank a little young but still really good.

Will be interesting to check in on this a bit further down the road. Quite primary now, but well-balanced and lovely; generally in very good harmony at the moment.
