Excellent!

Light gold color. Stick with me on the nose as my senses must be up. It contains subtle hints of salsa and cigarette butts with some lime and cream. Wine is well balanced with lovely texture. Classic Chablis. Medium finish. Not thrilled at the price, but can’t seem to put the glass down. I think there are similar wines for half the price, but this is growing on me. Prime drinking age.

My last bottle of this vintage, and that is a good thing. It is beginning to take on a bit of a buttery nose. The butteriness is covered up in the taste by the great acidity and fruit. I would drink up.

Superbe.

Palish gold color. In excellent shape with clean fresh sea breeze aromas and light floral notes. No longer bright or bracing but plenty vibrant and yet a subtle sense of lush richness. Now in perfect balance and harmony. Nothing remotely out of place. Spot on classic Chablis with a profound minnerally, citrus, salinity and a touch of honey. A prefect pairing tonight with fresh, cast iron pan seared, unadorned, whole trout. A modest 12.5% alc. This is no longer a bracing, new release, Chablis but rather, a wine that has added finesse and come into perfect balance. No need to rush but drinking great right now. My last btl, wish I had at least 2 more.
Right from the uncorking this thing bursts with energy. The nose is spectacular, offering incredibly pure limestone, lemon and lime zest, chalkiness, parsley, mushroom funk, daisies and dandelions, and sea mist. The body is lush but offers great cut with impeccably balanced acid that zigs and zags with nervous energy and verve. This is why you drink Chablis, it makes life come to life. The abundant citrus is all sorts of zest and pithy goodness. The sea is very prevalent as are the bitter greens. It finishes with a really nice, modest sweetness that doesn't overwhelm the nervous acid. An amazing achievement considering the vintage, it's drinking exceptionally well right now.

This bottle shows a bit more ripeness and less precision than my last bottle. Luckily no signs of premox. There is still some mineral and saline notes to balance the ripe fruit but this bottle leaves me wanting more focus and energy.

{Purchased on release, #2 of case, PopNPour, 1/2 Vacuvined and tried on night 2). classic minerals and scent, touch of almond-nuts-marzipan I sometimes associate with Meursault and ripe Chablis; in mouth mixture of limestone, flint and round fruit. Good length. Reading prior notes this bottle came across with less citrus and a bit more ripe fruit. Not quite as 'classic' as '08, '10, or '14 fruit. Delicious, very little change with 24 hours, drink or hold.

Wow, this is so dam good! I had backed off the Fevre band wagon after getting burnt on some 04s with premox and with the price jumps but I'm fully back on again. I've been buying these right too lately. The Montee De Tonnerre continues to somehow escape the attention it deserves and along with basic AOC remains one of the best values in Chardonnay world wide. Tonight's btl was spot on classic Chablis with intense, sappy, minnerally, citrusy, salty, full on, Chablis. A prefect pairing with fresh pan seared unadorned Halibut. The mouthfeel and mouthwatering acidity is perfection. Fantastic seaside nose. There is real range and complexity here. Just fantastic! 12.5% Alc 94pts+ Wish I had more than one 2011 left. Might have to ante up for some more.

Archetypal chablis here. Mineral driven, saline, lemon zest. Best upon opening and clamped down a bit with air in the glass. Excellent tension and mouth filling texture. This one is built for the long hall if it can escape premox.

Another great showing. Begins reductive and needs some air time to clean up. This has that Fevre brightness and energy, along with textbook Chablis notes of chalk. Clear fruit, bright acidity, Brad gets oak but he's alone on that. This is clean, clear, young and pulsing. Drink now. Maison Kayser with Rani.

This is exactly what I wish for when I open a Chablis. Pale yellow, sulphur, chalk / shells, minerals, citrus, white fruit and a touch of white flowers. Great balance on the palate which is exceptionally fresh, clear and accurately drawn, nice finish of good length. Unlike many other whites, this tastes fresh not because it's served too cold. Can this get better with more bottle age? Hard to imagine, but then I have had 20+ year old Chablis which were still showing wonderful freshness, so who knows... 93-94

Bonne longeur, digeste léger gras qui balance bien l'aspect vif/tranchant. Très bon.

Thus far, I have not been a big fan of the 2011 Chablis. This '11 Fevre Montee, however, I think is one of the better ones I've sampled. This was decanted and opened nicely over the course of dinner. Begins with a hit of sulfur that takes a short while to blow off, then revealing clear and white fruits and some chalk notes. We all enjoyed this. With James and Nancy at Nice Matin.

This was very nice, and much better than the '11 Fevre Preuses Grand Cru that I had last week in Chianti. Begins with a hint of reduction/match stick that eventually blows off. The palate is big, typical Fevre assertiveness, with lots of bright white and clear fruits, lots of citrus and a rather strong bitter fennel note. Lots of energy. This is especially good for the vintage, but I would drink it young.
