Dark fruited, soft smoky feel, light spice. Had a bit acetone touch but just at the edges. Good palate feel, well made wine but just was lacking a presence. An off bottle or the wine past the best it can show. Pretty wine and good 89

Popped and poured. Medium crimson color. Expressive nose of black cherry, juicy plum, tobacco, a bit of cured meat, some earthy funk, and more. Really nice aromas that lead to similar flavors on the palate. Complex wine that really delivers on the old world Southern Italian terroir with delicious dark fruit. Medium+ acid, medium tannins and body. Lighter in style than many nero d'avola wines and that is a good thing. Long finish. Great wine. Wish I had more in the cellar.

Crisp and clean - bright fruit, a bit closed on the initial attack and all the way until about halfway through the finish. Bright tart red cherry, exceptionally fine tannins. Paired beautifully with sausages, peppers and onions.

Italian Night with the Grapemates (Osteria di Russo & Russo): Herb, meat, cherry, pencil shavings and wild herbs. Very drying tannin provides a pretty imposing structure and while it has good texture, it just wasn't as interesting as the 13 Frappato tonight.

Certainement très bon... mais excellent?? Très discutable. L'équilibre est assurément bien maîtrisé, dans un ensemble frais, fin, élégant, mais qui demeure un peu simple dans l'ensemble. Peut-être a-t-il besoin de temps? 88-89? RQP passable.

God I love Arianna's wine, and this one was firing. Bright and elegant but structured. Pure, juicy fruit laced with all sorts of spice notes. Gorgeous stuff that I'd love to cellar for four or five years.

Plums dark fruit, also some red fruit, beautiful acidity and tannin structure. Light yet rich, just a great bottle. Not like any Nero I have had before. Bright and very food friendly

Deep beet red. A beautiful take on Nero which skirts the line between elegance & rusticity. Harmonious & balanced. Fascinating aromatics showing floral accents to the dark plummy fruit. This starts off a bit brooding, but the acidity brightens it up & the tannic grip adds textural complexity. Full bodied & showing weight via concentration.
As is the case with all Occhipinti wines I've tried. This is finessed & graceful, but there is plenty of power here and I would enjoy this with a list of dishes far too long to list. Beautiful.

Ruby. Somber, black fruited aromatics. Medium weight. Good blend of garrigue (or the Italian equivalent!), black fruit, and anise. Quite the acid/tannin backbone. Not harmonious or an easy drink right now, particularly when tasted right after the Frappato. Needs a few years to round off the obvious edges, but I still think I prefer the blended 2013 SP68 to this wine.

Rezy13 nailed it: "Autumnal, honey, mineral; sweet fruit on palate, expansive tannin." Fascinating next to Tenuta delle Terre Nere's regular bottling, same vintage. The Tenuta delle Terre Nere offers a similar tannic structural core but with a layer of bright delight that adds appeal.

Meaty, graphite, cherry and raspberry. Still pretty fierce on the tannins quite taut and right with light red fruits across its medium length.

nice medium weight, plush dark berry fruit/mulberries. Dusty tannins, chalky overall feel. Nice length to finish. This is tasty wine.

Délicieux ! L’impression de lécher une plaque de granite ou coulerait du coulis de cerise noire.

PnP at Piccino. A bit cold but delightful. Needs a year or three. 13%
