Red fruits dominate this wine with a small darker touch. Excellent acidity gives it a fresh dryness, smokey cedar notes, some dust, thyme, new shoe leather. medium + length. On the second day the wine lost its mineralogy, was less intense and round. some tartness was noticeable. First pour for my new Zalto Universals. Damn that is like drinking wine from a surgical knife, sharp and precise as hell :-)

modest nose of red fruits and some cedar, developed after some time and became more open. Tastewise thick red juicy fruits with tones of cofffee, cedar and forestfloor. right amount of oak to give it that smokey note without being a butterscotch bomb. The freshness of the wine suprised me te most. Not a keeper for ages due to lack of sturctural tannine backbone, dont see it improve a lot but overall for now a very nice wine!

Paired with another Bolgheri of similar cab/syr/mer proportions, noted similarities of black coffee and salted caramel among the dark fruits, but this was the more elegant package. Soft tannins, overall good balance, ready now. Not a long-term hold but should be fine thru 2020.

Opened one of 6 bottles from the cellar that I bought after tastings in August and November 2015. I had tried one of the first vintages of this wine in Tuscany some years before - in a year that really was "burnt" in terms of weather. It's a reasonably priced wine from a good producer, but it seems to be a wine to drink sooner rather than later. My recollection of my 2015 tastings is that I would have scored the wine higher then. So, I will find a way to drink up the other 5 in my cellar in the next 12-18 months...

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black pepper and clove. It tastes like mushroom. The body is medium. The wine has coarse texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity. I bought six bottles with a low expectation of really liking it (sounds strange I know) but I rarely leave a Tasting without buying something. So as said, I was pleasantly surprised!

Full body, deep to inky purple color. Intense ripe black and red fruits aroma complements by black pepper and dominant earthy notes. Black cherry, plums and sweet spices on the palate, long peppery finish. Powerful, rich and hot, bold texture, well balanced, complex, thick acidity and gentle tannins. Food friendly. Best match is meat dishes, ideal for grilled veal or lamb but well associated with Risotto or Pilaf. Serve 18º - 22º. Need time for oxidation, open at least three hours in advance or decant, drink now and next three/four years, perhaps more.

Tre Bonne Annee Antinori's Fascination with Cabernet (Bricco): Very nice. Tobacco, spices and some earthiness on the nose. A rich wonderful flavor that I couldn't identifyjumps out immediately. The previous commenter I think got it with the chocolate cake description. Once that subsided there was lots of fruit with silky feel. The tannins still need a little time to mellow, but it still drinking very well now.

Weekly tasting group #185; a mixed set of red wines (@ My place): In the bouquet cherries, red berries and some herbs and spices as well as some oaky flavors. On the palate red and dark forest fruits, some herbs and spices again, a slight touch of sweetness and good, firm acidity. Round tannin with a good bite. Saved the leftover at cellar temperature and day 3 the wine was still youthful with good fresh acidity. Some licorice appeared as well. The tannin even a little more round, but still youthful. Tasting the 2012 and 2013 day 1 and day 3 beside each other, at this moment it seems that the 2012 is a little more concentrated and the 2013 more elegant. On the other hand the 2012 developed much more quickly, so in the long run the 2013 will probably prove to be the better wine. For now I score them the same: 90. Waiting until at least 2018 is probably wise, but since I could buy them at a bargain price I bought several, so there will probably be a follow up before 2018.

bought this on a whim while picking up groceries for a light Italian dinner at home. Decanted for 30 minutes. Very earthy and holding back initially. It evolved nicely over the next hour. The earth left leaving behind soft tannins and a really nice soft red fruit on the palate. I am a big fan of the Villa Antinori for a staple wine. This was several dollars more but a nice chang up and I think a good QPR. I will keep some around the house.

Tasted at Virtual Webcast with Marchese Antinori at Total Wine in McLean, VA on Saturday, June 13, 2015. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 15% Syrah. Vineyard came from the family of Marchese Antinori's mother. Full bodied with smooth tannins with long finish. Beautiful ruby red color with good nose. Made to be aged about 5 years. 14% alcohol. 29.99

Decanted for a couple of hours, this Super Tuscan blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 15% Syrah is very international in style. The color is medium (+) to deep purple, with considerable extraction. The nose is clean, medium (+) in intensity, with black currant, black cherry, baking spice and espresso. The palate is dry but fruit forward, with medium acidity, medium (+), polished tannins and medium alcohol resulting in a medium (+) to full bodied red with medium (+) flavor intensity and a long finish. This made in a very refined and polished style which should appeal to New World wine drinkers although not distinctively Italian. It is approachable early, but should improve with two years of aging and then enter a long drinking window. A pretty impressive effort at under $27.00.

A very nice value delivering fresh floral notes with cassis, plum, dark cherry, plump and round with a nice spine of acid and ripe tannin.

Surprisingly good value from Antinori. Tight at the onset but rounded nicely against pasta dish we had

bought this on a whim while picking up groceries for a light Italian dinner at home.

Very Tuscan, earthy, and bold. Great concentration, cut, and definition to this. Already drinking well, but it might improve with two to three years in the cellar..

(Cabernet S./Merlot/Syrah)
Un Bolgheri molto bordolese, con in evidenza tabacco da pipa, cuoio, cacao, caffé, spezie dolci.
Bocca piacevole con tannini ben integrati. Finale di discreta lunghezza.
Vino preciso e tecnicamente ben fatto.
Molto buono con filetto al sangue.
