Clear, medium gold yellow with a very delicate bubble
On the nose we have medium intensity lots of brioche citrus like lemon and some stone fruit
Dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, medium body, medium intensity, medium+ aftertaste and a very nice and delicate bubble.
I like this wine it’s not the best champagne I’ve ever had but it’s definitely a good champagne I would rate this 85/100 I would like a little more complexity but it’s very nice to drink and celebrate something for me it was the start of the weekend today.

No information on the label re disgorgement etc and no QR code (that I could find anyway).
The medium golden color suggested some age.
Pronounced nose of green apple, citrus and some pastry and honey notes. Nothing spectacular but a lot more than expected from this "entry level" cuvee.
Medium bodied on the palate with acidity on the medium side ( so much lower than many NV cuvees). Lots of flavor concentration with a dry medium plus finish.
Overall an excellent bottle- clearly to drink now.

NV Henri Giraud Esprit Nature. IMHO this ‘basic bottling’ from Giraud would knock the spots off a fair few grand marque champagnes. Long finish of white peach and lightly bruised apple. Floral nose, honeysuckle. Cannot wait to try my bottles of the Argonne and a great way to kick off Christmas. 90-91/100

Deep lemon yellow colour, fine bubbles. The bouquet is inviting with fresh apples, lemon and well-balanced notes of bread and yeast. In the mouth, the mousse is elegant and the overall mouthfeel is fresh. Slight creaminess. Very good aperitif style champagne. DM90. [First published on DMueller.com.]

Pale lemon colour. Small and lively bubbles. Medium and developing nose with ripe red apples, ripe lemon, toast, bread dough, brioche and wet stone. Medium taste of ripe red apples, ripe lemon, toast, brioche, bread dough and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good NV Champagne. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well as an aperitif, or with cheeses or cured meat.

A bit hints of red fruits, dark red (might be dark sweet cherries in cream) slightly caramelized/vanilla.
Some kind of dusty creaminess with fairly rough and big bubbles.
At this point I was slightly disappointed.
With a bit aeration bubbles become less aggressive and there is a nice overall fruitiness with notes of maybe pear at this stage.
A bit short finish but overall pleasant juice.
With a bit more time everything transforms into really creamy zesty juicy vanilla juice with bubbles.
Definitely gets better with more and more aeration. I would tend to recommend using a decanter for aeration if drinking a slightly youngish disgorgement.
Regarding price performance it gets more difficult, its still cheaper than Veuve and Moet but the price trend is getting a bit spicy.

IPNC Weekend 2023; 7/26/2023-7/31/2023: Drank a glass over an hour at the Champagne Brunch, IPNC. This was a significant step up over the Hommage au Pinot Noir Aÿ we had a couple days before. This was really crisp, taut, citrus, nice mineral definition, not aggressive, enough fruit to nicely carry the Brut Nature, and not oxidative at all. 91+ to 92pts.

'Welcome back Neal' Dinner (Giando, 5 Star Street, Wan Chai, Hong Kong): Gifted by Emanuele. Recent disgorgement. Light hay gold colour. Lively mousse with strong beads of very small bubbles. Fresh nose of mown grass and hay. Palate is very petillante in the mouth with lots of Pinot. Low dosage but not at all austere.....because the 'Nature' on the label refers to biodynamic winemaking not absence of dosage. Elegant and with a lovely freshness. Nicely resonant inside the head. I think I prefer this as an accompanyment to seafood rather than as an aperitif. Very enjoyable and more-ish. 90 easy.

Disgorged 2022 (2017 base?). Very nice. Loses bubbles fairly quickly but more complex and tasty than white wine at the same price. tarte aux pommes. creme brulee. caramel banana mineral. looooong finish. almost dessert champagne-like but because of flavour profile rather than dosage. drank like an effervescent high qual burgundy on the 2nd day. not for if you're looking for a typical aperitif champagne but recommend and now I'm really looking forward to the Fut de Chene MV17 we have in the cellar.

Disgorged Oct 2020, 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, mostly 2017 wine. A lovely Champagne, especially for the price. Startlingly, delightfully red-fruited, some fudge and spice, rounded in feel but with sufficient crisp appley acidity to keep it refreshing. The oak was mostly a textural influence, although once we went back to the Champagne after drinking some Falkenstein Feinherb there was some apparent vanilla flavour. Am looking forward to the next bottle!

nose of brioche and ripe red apple, yellow straw to golden. in the mouth is rather dense, vinous, apple juice, eggs cream, vanilla, very nice acidity, great savory. long finish on the notes of red apple and some lemon zest. very enjoyable base wine! I would have rated it 1 point more, if a slight bitterness wouldn’t be there.

Disg. 10/21 Almond, citrus, apple skin. Full-bodied, slightly vinuous, racy acidity and fine concentration. Slight oxidation. Integrated and harmonious. Perhaps simple, but charming and and elegant in its own way. Youthful.

Dinner at Sundial Private Dining (Sundial, Binjai Park): Very pleasant. I really liked the nose on this, with its classic notes of red apples and lemons, yeast and a little dash of spice and mineral. Bright and attractive. The palate was deliciously drinkable as well, with a really nice balance of snappy, mouthwatering acidity, fine mousse, and a good streak of stony mineral undergirding juicy flavours of red apples, lemons and cherry flesh, all resolving into a finish of citrus, stone and lemon zest. Not incredibly complex, but very integrated and drinking yummily.

Another one of these Brut Nature that after all the hassle smell like a Cava or a dryer Version of a Prosecco. I like low dosage but let's face it. Champagne is a manufactured drink and its strength are the mix of the fruit and autolytic notes. If they are missing bottle aging on lees is pointless and often with zero dosage they are missing.
A charming and textural champagne. Almond cream, brioche, and baked apples. Frothy mousse that seems to die down and fall flat a bit in the glass after some 20min. Fairly well balanced, though leaning on the softer side.
Impressive richness and grace with an amazing array of flavours. Plenty of fruits on the nose - green apple, pear, citrus, lemon and grapefruit. On the palate - cream, toasty brioche, biscuits dough and mild peppery bitterness. Finishing is long and so lovely.

A private lunch (Restaurant De Lage Vuursche, Lage Vuursche, NL): Sabrage is common at De Lage Vuursche, but this bottle was opened in the less spectacular way. Nature but not Brut Nature. An excellent introduction to the Giraud style - the familiar focus on (approximately 80% in this cuvée) Pinot Noir, the influence from the Argonne oak, the balance between rich flavours and minerally freshness. Good value.

Pale lemon-lime flesh in color Nutty buttered brioche. Not a lot of bubbles after sever hours open VERY 'moussey'. Frothy bubbles, and then frenetic bubbles for a short while. Bitter green apples, short finish. Rounder, with more fruit. Grapefruit is present. Some lychee sweetness notes. A very nice bottle, but drink it immediately as it fades after a coupe of hours. QPR a little high.

Had a bottle about a year ago at a restaurant and at the time was knocked out. I remember thinking it tasted like a wine that might retail for the restaurant price ($100 or so) - but I also wondered if maybe the bottle had been in the cellar a couple years. No way to know with these NVs sometimes. Either way, fantastic with braised rabbit and oysters. Big body, full and rich, just wouldn’t quit. Nose had hints of warmed brown sugar on toast.
Fast forward to this year and a definitely new bottle. On first taste, clearly the restaurant bottle did have some age. More acidity up front on the new one, less toast but it’s still there for sure. Great stuff. Maybe not one I’d imagine retailing for $100 but certainly more than the $49 it cost. Will set aside a few for a year or two and see if I can recapture the magic of the first bottle.

From a half bottle, no dg information stated. Way more developed on the nose than my past experiences but very nice all the same. Ripe apple, sea breeze, buttered toast and smoke with a rather distinct Sherry-esque oxidative edge. On the palate quite broad with a spry, persistent mousse. Rich with a fairly traditional dosage, i.e. this is by no means brutally dry. I find it well balanced. Flavors are very similar to the nose besides the oxidation which is a bit less prominent. There is good acidity and some bitter tones that bring nuance to the whole. Altogether pleasant and enjoyable, at this price point it is pretty impeccable in its rich, developed yet still vibrant style.

A "natural" Champagne w/o any added sulphites. Made from Pinot noir (70-80 %) and Chardonnay (20-30 %). No dosage.
Bright yellow colour. Med intense nose w. minor autolytic character. Bone dry w. med+ acid, med body, intensity and alc. Crispy almost aggressive bubbles. Lacks some balance between the dryness/acid and body to an extent where it almost appears sharp and unforgiving. Med to med(+) finish w. bitter touch.
My notes: Apples, sea shells, salty fudge or caramel, lime zest bitterness.

Dinner at La Bonne Table. Drank in regular Burg glass instead of flute. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon yellow colour. Bubbly froth. Thin legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of ripe citrus lemon, green lime, ripe pears, biscuit, stony mineral. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of honeyed Meyer lemons, Vinous apples, ripe pears, stony minerality, almond. Rounded textured long finish. Good quality. Feels rather artisanal despite the highish dosage. Simple flavours but nice vinosity. Great for drinking with food. 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay.

I served this in my wine course. Nose is primarily lactic, with a touch of biscuit. Somewhat coarse mousse settled down and became more elegant after a bit in glass. Decadent hazelnut/Nutella mouth and finish with a touch of grapefruit pith makes this sparkler a real joy. Outstanding.

Medium golden yellow with light bubbles. Can sense some of the oaka on the nose with marzipan, almonds and apples. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Nice amount of fruits on the palate with some green apples and citrus. As well as some minerality in the medium plus finish. Drink till 2022.
Made up of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay all from Grand Cru vineyards in Äy. Aged for a minimum of 3 years on the lees and concrete vinified. Some Reserve (older vintages) comes from oak barrels.

When well-chilled this works as a stand-alone fizz, but particularly as it warms a little I feel that it needs food of some sort.

nose of brioche and ripe red apple, yellow straw to golden.
in the mouth is rather dense, vinous, apple juice, eggs cream, vanilla, very nice acidity, great savory. long finish on the notes of red apple and some lemon zest.
very enjoyable base wine! I would have rated it 1 point more, if a slight bitterness wouldn’t be there.

1972 Bordeaux horizontal tasting: Two bottles from restaurant wine list. Fairly rich yellow fruit, medium sweetness. Solid Champagne, would happily trade in some of the richness for a bit more delineation and minerality.

Almond, citrus, apple skin.

Closure: natural cork
ABV: 12%
Stem: Grassl Mineralite
Assemblage: 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay

Good value.

Pale lemon-lime flesh in color
Nutty buttered brioche. Not a lot of bubbles after sever hours open
VERY 'moussey'.

Lacks some balance between the dryness/acid and body to an extent where it almost appears sharp and unforgiving. Med to med(+) finish w. bitter touch.
My notes: Apples, sea shells, salty fudge or caramel, lime zest bitterness.

I like this champagne rather much. Just to be clear, this is a Brut wine, not a Brut Nature - its name is Esprit Nature - "Spirit of Nature", but it clearly has a few grams of dosage.
The nose is quite vigorous and has notes of yeast, creaminess, minerality and ripe pears. On the palate the initial hit is of a dry acidity, rapidly followed by evolving notes of crisp green apples, combined with minerality and some citrus notes. Overall the mouthfeel is rounded rather than austere, but not at all cloying. The finish is crisp and moderately long.
When well-chilled this would work as a stand-alone fizz, but particularly as it warms a little I feel that it needs food of some sort. It's working well for me with mature cheddar and breadsticks.
Good QPR and definitely a repeat buy at the ~US$36.
