Lovely wine, if you like the style. Decaying rose petals, leather, strawberries and assorted other red berries. Acid prominent on the finish, tannins integrated. Easy drinking, but with a sneaky complexity.

Very pretty wine here from Vajra. Pours light ruby. Could be mistaken for a Nebbiolo in the glass (maybe just a hair darker than a typiccal traditional nebbiolo). The nose wafts expressive mixed berry fruit, with lovely floral markers; violet and rose, with just a whip of orange zest. The palate is medium plus in acid and tannin, also fairly nebbiolo like. Generally I don't love barbera and dolcetto, but in this blend they work quite nicely for me.

Medium ruby – plush nose of black plum, crushed rock, earth, spices, star anise, cinnamon, and sweet, ripe dark cherry. Medium+ acid, medium tannins, 13.5% ABV, medium body, medium finish. Delicious and well-paired with Frittata Affogata alle Lasagne with Marcella Hazan’s Tomato Sauce.
Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, and Barbera, blended with small quantities of Albarossa, Freisa and Pinot Noir.

This wine makes an incredibly strong case for blending Barbera and Dolcetto vs. bottling the single varietal. This has evolved into a very fun wine with plenty of depth and character for only $15. The fruit sparkled tonight. A superb value. Perhaps Piedmont's only version of Cote Du Rhone from one its best producers. A blend of Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and the rare heirloom Freisa and Albarossa. Aged mostly in stainless and some neutral oak. Can't help but love this! label says 13.5% but feels and drinks more like 12% alc. 91+

A little more roasted herbs, a little less exuberant sour cherry than the '16? Tasty, QPR, etc... Last 3rd of this bottle spent a few days in a decanter, and what it lost in respectable construction, it gained in pure cherry vanilla guzzling pleasure

Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Barbera, Albarossa, Freisa and Pinot Noir
Medium body, bright garnet red. Red and black fruits aroma combined with very charm smoky notes. Dominant sour cherry palate and juicy finish. Basic wine but not so simple, well balanced and silky, refreshing acidity and soft tannins. Food friendly, best match is cheese ravioli. Serve 16º - 20º. Drink now while young and next couple years.

Pale shade of ruby red with medium optical density and high specular reflectivity. Expressive nose, showing red fruits (strawberry, red plum, raspberry, and cherry, along with roses and some spices. Light in body on the palate with medium acidity and is dry, but not bone dry, with pretty light tannins, which lends a texture that is juicy and succulent. Some nice tension, and a bit of a dancing presence. Flavours of mixed red fruits on the attack, especially plum and lightly sweet red cherries; this stays pretty firm throughout, providing a consistent flavour profile. The midpalate evolves only really in an undulating fruit over floral way- intensity is good throughout, but the red fruit and the light florals swirl around each other. Finishes with a touch of sweet dried flowers and herbs (potpourri) and yields a short and juicy finish.
This is a fresh, easy drinking red with lots of character and grace. Excellent value red wine, with an elegant and simple profile, but backed up with some decent depth that comes not from power, but from an openness and honesty. Very well made, delicious to drink, and a totally fun wine. A winner to me that gives a sense of place without any pretense. Awesome as a daily wine and as a red for those who don't like tannic and overly dry drinks.

Consistent with previous bottles. This vintage continues to be noticeably leaner and more austere than 2015 and 2014. My impression is that drinks well but lacks the complexity and deliciousness of prior vintages. I bought a whole case of this and will revisit bottles over the next weeks/months.
Medium ruby in color, this wine reveals red fruits including plum, strawberry and cherry on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied with more red fruits and subtle anise. The finish brings the fruit and together in a pleasant, no hard edges fashion. 13.5% abv.

Best bottles yet. Tonight really fine. Nose is of soft red fruits. Strawberries, plumbs and some ripe cherries. In the mouth the fruit jumps out and costs you mouth. It has become a beautiful drink. Not profound but a really great week night drink with a steak sandwich. Tonight 90-91

I love the description of this in an earlier TN about this being an Italian CDR. That really makes sense to me. I also agree with the TN about this not having the vibrancy of the 16. I think it is still quite tasty, but the lower acidity keeps it from teaching the heights of previous vintage. Still wonderfully delicious, a super fun wine, and a good value.

Perhaps Piedmont's only version of Cote Du Rhone from one its best producers. A blend of Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and the rare heirloom Freisa and Albarossa. Aged mostly in stainless and some neutral oak. Semi translucent ruby red. Fresh violets and berries on the nose. The palate seems to indicate Barbara is the dominate grape with its almost prickly acidity without food. With food it integrates perfectly adding lift and energy. Somewhat tart mix of red and darker fruit, spice, herbs and minerality. Just a radiant, honest, pure expression of Piedmont tastiness. Perfect no, but always fun and always somewhat different from year to year. Excellent value for $13 on sale locally.
Dark colored, freshness on the nose and palate, scents of violets and ripe berries give way to flavors of succulent red berries, flower petals and mineral, very well made and strait to the point, fill some glasses up over a pizza or cheese dish

Dark fruit nose of black cherry and herbs. There just isn’t enough acidity on the palate to lift the wine. The finish is a bit hot as well. I think this vintage is a pass at least at this level of wine. The 2016 was much better. It just doesn’t come together.

THey don't scale production. So every wine is born from vineyards. They aren't going to just grow and grow a way. Hence they make many wines probably.
This is all young vineyards and its Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Barbera and then a touch of Fresia and Pinot Noir. Born out of the desire to bring Piedmonte to everyone but in a super friendly way.
Juicy and fun, lots of fruit, drinking great.

Consistent with previous vintage.
13.5% abv.
Purchased for $14US, this vintage is noticeably leaner and less complex but remains a good qpr, perfect for everyday sipping.

Consistent with previous vintage. This was my first tasting of the 2017 vintage and this offering continues to be noticeably leaner and more austere than 2015 and 2014. My impression is that drinks well but lacks the complexity and deliciousness of prior vintages. I bought a whole case of this and will revisit bottles over the next weeks/months.

Light, uncomplicated, fruity and well made. Not bad at all for the price.
