UGCB tasting-Amsterdam 2021 Bordeaux 03-04-2024: Even flowers in the bouquet; the wine shows a bit harsh in the finish. The fruity style, however, compensates and makes this wine interesting.

The 2021 Clerc Milon has really beautiful fresh red cherry, tobacco, pencil, and leather notes with nice aromatic volume. Plenty of tannin and a bit shy on the palate, but finishes persistently.

Union Des Grands Crus Bordeaux (New York City, NY, USA): Fresh and balanced, kind of "Old-school" in a good way. Nice texture/mouthfeel./ More red fruited than black. Bright acidity controlled tannin. Long finish. Upside with age.

You already find tobacco leaf, espresso, black plum, cigar box, and currants on the nose. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, fresh, elegant and polished. There is a fabulous sense of purity, gentleness in the tannins, and a slight, savory-edge in the finish that accompanies all those ripe berries. This is so good now, It is going to be quite easy to enjoy in its youth. The wine blends 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 1.5% Petit Verdot and 1.5% Carmenere, 13% ABV. Drink from 2024-2045. 92-94

En-Primeur campaign for the 2021 vintage; 4/25/2022-4/29/2022 (Bordeaux): Served at Mouton Meaty, black fruits, Asian five spice and a little biscuit, slightly jubey fruit core. Polished oak. Juicy, medium plus intensity acidity, fleshy, pleasing, surprisingly lightweight tannins help with the fruit. Wetly enjoyable. Nice.
