Light red. Aromas of forest floor, mushroom and some red berries. Light weighted, tart and tender, but also intense and focused. A great old fashioned style Burgundy.

really very beautiful, but only on night two... med plus bodied, had a balance between high tone and roundness, with a muddling of mostly fruit and a little spice, also some surfboard wax / sandalwood, really nice but again took night two to bring this out... therefore I would say that ten years is a good time to try the next bottle

Decanted for two hours. Red berries, cherries, moss, and exotic spices on the very fragrant nose. Medium tannins, good acidity, with red berries on the palate. Long finish. Gorgeous wine!

Clos de Bèze Tasting-Mostly Pierre Gelin (Arlequin Wines, San Francisco): Pale center, watery rim. Soil and herbal notes, and that curious beetroot scent that always makes me wonder about chaptalization. Light weight. The fruit is hard to pick out yet it has some artificial sweetness and a charred quality (oak?). Quite tannic for its weight, lean back end that is full of earth. Disjointed yet somehow appealing, but it is less of a wine than the 2 younger vintages poured before it.

Not quite ready for prime time -- that's going to more like 3-5 years out. Red-fruited and fairly acidic. More Gevrey earth as the bottle warms and opens. Fairly muted aromatically. Try again in 2018.
