  • Mineral notes of wet pebbles and sea salt, hints of lemongrass, pear and red apple fruit with lemon or orange zest. Over time this is adding more oaky notes and smoke. The levels of detail and delicacy are off the charts. The aromatic breadth is rather confined, but what is there is sublimely fine and precise. Nice length and a satin texture like I’ve rarely experience before. More ground stone minerality and lemon fruit on the palate. An outstanding wine.

  • This Monty is an absolut superstar – no doubt about that. Intense, layered, superbly well-delineated and structured, harmonious and almost weight free… this has all you can wish for in a Chardonnay, even a bit emotional. There is no doubt that Jadot picked at the exact right time in this not so easy vintage. 98+ pts.

TN: Expressive, very intense bouquet with lots of reduction popcorn and toasty notes, fresh apple and some citrus showing. Very inviting, round and fresh. This seamlessly continuous on the palate which displays additional layers of smoke and liquid minerality, so the complete 360 on the aroma wheel is there. The texture is silky and round, very light and almost weightless with a strong acidity core that cuts through all the aromatic richness. Very round and harmonious from start to the long finish.

Decanting: Didn’t need much decanting to start to shine. Good from the go but improved a bit with air and ever so slightly changed. Best follow over a period of time.

  • Served at the end of a large wine tasting dinner with the cheese platter. This was the WOTN. Right off the bat everyone was stunned by how good this was. Lots of oohs and aahs. I am not a big white burg drinker but this wine really had it all. Beautiful and classical nose of lemon curd, popcorn, tasty oak. The real hit was the palate. Despite its modern appearance it stayed so balanced and fresh, dancing on your palate with a long mineral finish. A wow wine, for many of the experienced wine buffs at the table, including me, one of the best whites they ever had. Is it a 100 Point wine? I don’t know, but if I don’t give a 100 Points after such a showing, when do I give it?

  • Louis Jadot whites are well made and shouldn’t be overlooked. Tasted this 2011 Montrachet blind and guessed it was PYCM Chassagne Montrachet 1Er Cru from a warm vintage like 2015. Not correct but clearly shows how good it is it! Smartly dressed réduction and fragrant buttery toast. Upfront ripe white tree fruits and fresh citrus. Brilliant freshness, undoubtedly thanks to the DIAM closure. Polished and generous on the finish. Drink now till 2042. (92/100)

  • FWSG tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Apperance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour.a Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of citrus lemon oil zest, yellow floral perfume, yellow peach, ntegrated woody oak and spice. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of lovely integrated woody oak toast and cream, ripe yellow peaches, sweet citrus lemon oil, light butterscotch and spice, underpinned by rocky stny minerality. Very long lovely finish.
Very good quality. Beautifully balanced Montrachet. An aspirational kind of Chardonnay. In drinking window already.
