Developing into a deeper gold color. Again, notes of peach, citrus, and slate. Seemed less sweet than I recall from earlier bottles, which was fine, but made me think the fruit may be fading too. Paired well with roast duck with Tamarind sauce at Origin Thai, (Basking Ridge)

Coravin fun - European Riesling (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Cream, peach, slight honey, a little mineral underpin, touch of spice. Very custard apple and ripe red apple on the palate with a creamy note. Off dry, generous without straying to the flabby, lovely

Delicious. Everything we love about Donnhoff Spatlesen. More complexity with 1hr+ of air. Slightly short finish and ever-so-slight lack of acidity make me thing this should be drunk within the next few years.

(Dönnhoff Schlossböckelheimer Kupfergrube Riesling Spätlese, Nahe, Germany) This wine blew me away when I tasted it earlier this year. It is the perfect combination of balance, purity of fruit, and mineral depth. Because the 2008 vintage is much leaner than other recent years, the high acidity perfectly balances the residual sugar, allowing an arsenal of mineral and tertiary flavors to bounce off the clean and focused fruit. Truly a spellbinding wine. Sommelier's Choice: Top Releases of 2009
