4th Saturday Brown Bagger (EBCC): Double blind. Notes of bouillon, hay, red fruit and herbs. The hay/dried straw quality follows on the palate, with red berry fruit. Somewhat lean. Atypical for the vintage, once again showing rather lean, bordering on austere. (V&M)

Two weeks ago I had a 2018 vintage, let's see which one is better. 2 hours in the decanter. First sniff and first sip and no doubt about the results. This is perfect ChdP. Next year I will probably give it 100 🙂 This wine has everything and even more. Aromas: orange, red cherry, minerals, coffee, black cherry, blackberry and much more. Taste? First of all - silky texture. Second - the wine is deliciously sweet, but in perfect balance with no sweet flavors! Blackberry, black cherry, plum mixed with red cherrie, orange, raspberry (?), black pepper, red currant. Long finish with red fruits and spice. Grainy tannins, perfect acidity. 2016 vintage in ChdP got 98 points according to the WA Vintage Guide. It was extraordinary. Early maturing and accessible. First night, there was a bit funkiness and dominated by plum taste. I decanted for another two hours on second days. The funkiness was dissipated. It was medium body and well balanced. It exhibits dark fruits, plum and fig with great acidity. Good QPR

An elegant CdP. Red and black berries, leather, mokka, spicy notes. There is some well integrated oak, very good balance and a long lasting finish and smooth mouthfeel. It seems to be a very good drinking spot.
