Decided to try this early with my somm buddy. Great bottle of wine. I liked Leve's notes. I'll hold my remaining bottles until 2026+. You can still find this out there for $63. Also, super hopeful the Beausejour Duffau is this elevated. Cheers.

Aromas of cassis, cherry and black plum. A mélange of fresh ripe raspberry, Maraschino cherries, and blueberry flavors with a light licorice tinge on the finish. Fine tannins and quite round and soft. Impressive.

Second time with this and I'm still finding it a little compact and closed in on itself and harder to get a read on than usual. Structurally it has that clenched bite and piercing, snappy fruit in both red and black tones that make up the essential ingredients of what I love about the Becot style. There is some tight-grained cedar from the oak but the glossy fruit mostly smooths it over. Whatever else it's got is still packed into the core.

The aroma is intense. Dark fruit, some kind of earthiness and smokiness layering. On the palate, acidity is super high, tannin is fine. I can feel the alcohol 14%, but it’s not intruding. I think this has a lot of potential but it’s not that fun to drink.

Consumed over two nights. Composed and layered flavors of dark fruit, lifted by bright raspberry notes on the finish. Balancing the fruit was licorice and espresso notes. On the second night I found more prune flavors in the mix. Mouthwatering finish.
