  • Bottle nr. 5 from a case of six. Shows age on the rim, ripe ruby, some bricking. Intense flavors of ripe plum, some cherry, followed by rosemary, cedar and cigar box aromas. Smooth and sweet mouthfeel, definitely mature but has that special sangiovese freshness that I love in Tuscan wines. From a very warm year. Will have my last bottle soon with a steak.

  • Decanted and poured with little to no sediment. Deep dense garnet hue with some pink to orange bricking on the rim. Nose and palate of dark red and hints of black fruit with a light kiss of oak and some florals. Tannins are well integrated yet apparent on the finish with a substantial dry note. This wine is just yummy. Drinking beautifully at 15 years of age. I've had this in my cellar for 11 years. I'll be dipping into the two I have remaining over the coming months. Drink up folks!

  • Mature and ready to drink. Starting to brick around the edges. Nose of sur bois, leather, tobacco and other tertiary armomas. On the palate it is sweet, but no heat can he detected from the warm 2009 vintage. Age has given it a leaner and refined structure. Tannins are in the background. Multilayered and joyful to drink. Perfect marriage of Cab and Sangiovese.

  • Tannins were well integrated. Got better after an hour in decanter. Earthy tones and dark red cherry fruit with a touch of earth. Yummy. May not get better with time but damn good now.

Souple et suave, long et complexe.
