2017 White and 2014 Red Burgundy (The Morris, San Francisco): Ruby. Fragrant green tones. Medium to lighter weight. Lean black and red fruit and soil. Brambly, complex, and structured. Clearly not for now, but it also seems that there is much less wine here than in the Dujac Clos St. Denis, and I wonder just how much it will improve from here. Not particularly attractive tonight.

Burgundy Grand Cru time! 2014 Domaine Ponsot Clos de la Roche, paired with picanha. This wine is slumbering but did deliver tightly coiled cherry fruit and sour cherry with at times a long finish. Some moss or green stem hints which added to the complexity. Decanted for an hour but most open at the 2 hour mark. Keep your bottles. 93 for now….

Slow oxed for 8 hours before serving. Very shut tonight. It needs 3-5 more years to come around in my view.
