Slow ox for 1 hour. Elegant and perfume nose but the taste was not ready until 1 hour in the glass, it showed some strength with some complexity (but the nose becomes shy). Fully open both in perfume and palate about 1.5 hours in the glass. The wine becomes more full-body with loads of fruit, branches and ash, with long finishing with mint. Very nice to drink.

Nose of nice funk and earth but a bitter streak. Similar on palate a bit of spice and earth. Nice savory on palate but of meat and earth. Lots of spice but bitter as well. Tart dry finish. Good but not great Nose - 5/6, Palate - 4.5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15/20.

Brought to an offline, drank along side the '00 Ponsot CdlR. This was more braughny. A masculine burg, very nice dark red berries, a bit of astringency and fine drying tannins. Still drinking young, too bad it was my last bottle. Bought at auction, it was from the Rusty Staub Collection.

P & P, wet cork, some seepage under capsule. Medium colour, remarkable nose, sweet and fruity, but with added candy floss and lavender in the perfume, slightly synthetic but actually rather pleasant. I wondered if it had been vinified in Grasse. Less sweet on the palate, mellow acidity, some pleasant tannins, significant deposit in last 2 glasses. Very good now.

Drink beautifully. Pure, precise cherry fruit, richness yet lightness to body. No rush to consume. Cellared since original release.
