First night wasn't sure it was still wine, but had half a glass for fun. Kept in fridge, under vacuvin. Second night showed improvement. Then after 48 hours it was gorgeous. Light of course, smooth tannins, Bordeaux claret style at this point, but really impressed by the longevity. Gone now!

Dusty, cedary, currant, smells very old. Tobacco, tea, old wood on the palate that begins with a little sweetness but quickly gives way to a hollow and dilute finish framed by bare tannin.

When I openened and the cork and it disintegrated halfway down, I thought I was in for serious trouble. Had to decant and strain due to the cork situation. At first, wine was very flat, but after about an hour in the decanter, the fruit opened nicely into a well rounded cab. Definitely past it's prime in my opinion, but still very enjoyable with roasted chicken and potatoes.

I can't believe this wine was 28 yrs old and still delicious. Had all the marks of a well aged Bordeaux. Oldest California wine I've ever had. Amazing!
