Mature wine. Don Melchor still lives! Surprisingly this 93 "Reserve Privada" Cab still had enough fruit flavors, was smooth on the palate, and had delicate tannins to thoroughly enjoy the nuances of the wine.

I really liked this wine - not necessarily because of the taste, but because it portrayed a certain event in history. One wonders what influenced Concha y Toro to make a Cab like this. Was it Bordeaux? Was it the vintage? Was it something unrelated to the previous? Definitely a wine to think about. Ligther than many old Cabs I’ve tried (12.5% abv). Fully developed all the way, no potential ahead. The wine is overall soft and mellow, with a slightly dense and long finish. Acid is resolved, but still keeping the wine intact. Definitely drink this if you have it, it’s holding on to strings.

Expressive on the nose straight away, red fruits, forest floor, leather slight toast notes, on the palate very smooth, silky tannins, similar note as the nose, the wine is starting to show its age, judging how open it was when opened I defiantly would not recommend decanting, very enjoyable... Drink up ...

Medium nose of green peper, leather, ripe red fruit, hint of gamey... in the mouth, super silky tannins, ripe red fruit, mushrooms
