No decant, pop and poured and drank over 4 hours with slim notes taken. The aromas were quite robust, offering a myriad of notes and layers of herbs, spice, very pretty red fruits (primarily raspberries) and graphite. Very rich and vibrant on the nose. The palate is rich, round and smooth on entry, presenting a gorgeous elegant balance. Oh so pretty with killer intensity in the mouth. Really vibrant spicy acidity on the finish as well. Probably a bit more closed than the bottle I had four years ago. Regardless, these remain drinking well for young Barolo, though ideal drinking is still a decade away.

Piemonte WIMPS (La Trompette, Chiswick, London): Deep ruby, with forest floor and perhaps some wild mustrooms on the nose. Very fine tannins delivering gorgeous red fruit. Quite prominent acidity, medium bodied and light on its feet yet with good length. It closed up after 45 mins.

Decanted about 9 hours before consuming. The nose was intoxicating, very perfumed and smelled like opening a back of black licorice. Super structured tannins, and has a very iron fist/velvet glove balance to it. I think this wine still needs at least 10 years for the tannins to soften. Drink 2030+

Birthday Celebration (State Street Manor & Racquet Club - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting, brief note from memory. Alluring aromas but firm palate giving little pleasure at present.

Burlotto Barolo Tasting + X (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): Compared to the other 2015 Barolo, the Acclivi felt off. Bitter, harsh tannin, unbalanced structure. But with a lovely, clear fruit. Potenrial? 89-90
