Veel donker fruit (bosbessen, bramen) met een erg kruidige boventoon (kaneel, cardemom, zoete baking spices). In de mond med- zuren, med tannines (soepel) en med+ alcohol. Ook hier verrassend veel primair fruit voor een 8 jarige wijn, maar het gebruik van eiken is duidelijk aanwezig. Goede wijn maar zou het niet lang meer laten liggen!

working with wine 2016 seminar 1 - tuscany (Hilton Hotel, Sydney): slightly overwhelming spice over black fruits, slight leather also, very slight herbaceous notes. Hints of plums that grow with time and are joined by coffee notes. In the mouth the wine is dense with medium plus intensity body, fleshy and broad, black fruit and spice complement drying and slightly course tannins. Medium length. Hmm.

Deep, dark reddish-purple in color; almost opaque. Forward, fragrant & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, dried herbs, spice notes of cloves & anise, some cedar, dark cocoa, minerals and a touch of oak. Medium-deep bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, supple & soft, dense, ripe dark fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals, dark cocoa, earthy and a touch of oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and airing and should develop slightly further with several more years of additional aging although it appears it is meant for early to mid-term consumption.
