  • 7 months after plop, under cork, no argon gas.

Last tiny glass with a fair share of crusty sediment. This is singing ever more beautifully tonight. It has every taste from the port spectrum imaginable, is several minutes long and ... strikes me with awe.

I am deeply grateful for having had the opportunity to enjoy this bottle.

Still very young and will be amazing in 50-100 years from now.

  • Jammy fruit, plum, raisins, smooth w a nice sweat & warm taste. Let this bottle sit in a decanter for awhile. It opens up nicely over an hour or so. Very nice showing for a 39 year old Port. Really enjoyed it.

  • (Almost 5 months after plop)

    Pure like an alpine stream.

One glass left of this after tonight's cheese snifter.
I have a rather pale tawny in front of me.
Nose is huge, diverse, complex, enticing and sports too many things for me to understand. But my understanding is that it's based on Chinese plum sauce, British Christmas fruit cake and some kind of happy fruit thing with some kind of miracle herbs. Majestic!
In the mouth, sweetness cones first and leaves last. Main point: fruity and delicious! Very detailed and delineated aromas spanning from red cherry chopstick candy to dark licorice herbal East European liqueur. In there are interspersed raw wood, cheapo 80'ies disco perfumes, heavily grilled salmon skin and candy shop, but not the kiddie version, the adult version.

    This is a WOW wine!
It has grown significantly better after a few months of airtime (under cork).

  • Decanted 2 hours before serving; Soft cork. Amazing! dark red coloring without any bricking on the rim. Still fruit forward particularly cherry, some allspice, chocolate and candied fruit. Incredibly smooth.
After 24 in the decanter, the port had started fading with more plummy and raisin note for the last glass. Delicious.

  • More red than purple colour. When opened everybody in the room could smell it, but in the glass theres first a lot of spices and later dark fruit and significant power. Plenty of intensity, with nice sweetness and a nice finish with the right amount of tannins. A treat, but not at the level with Dow 2000, we had a week ago.
