  • At a private dinner, Little Cove, Noosa. This 1995 has opened beautifully after years of slumber with a still deep crimson colour and a soaring nose of garnet plums, blackcurrants, dark chocolate and truffles. The palate is gracefully rich and round with plenty of dark plum and berry fruit backed by dark chocolate, violets and truffles. There's a fine line of refined tannins and touches of walnuts on the finish. A delicious Pomerol from a stern year.

  • 1995 vintage. Decanted and traced over the course of 1.5 hours. Nice, top-shoulder fill. Great cork. Throwing very little sed. Cocoa powder and crushed violets in a fairly reticent nose. Light-medium body. Soft entry flavors with acidity and remaining tannins picking up intensity on the concentrated finish. Holding steady now and likely for 7-10 years on this plateau. Not improving but not falling off anytime soon. 12.3.23.

  • Amber edge, beautiful red fruit that is mature and very light on the palate Great drinking window. This is what a great Bordeaux should feel and taste like in summer, as lionhbas you are inside. Grounded leaves and earthy notes
After an hour. Very bright and wonderful sweet perfume
No downward trends, in fact the opposite. Drink, buy or order. This wine and Pomeral Never disappoint

    P.s. ground beef crispy tacos 🌮 🙂

  • Bright, red fruited, tangy, but not austere or lean. The acidity gives this real intensity and there’s a nice smoky, piney note. Wonderfully sappy and vinous. Layered, verved finish that lingers satisfyingly. Gets deeper with a little air and shows more of a silken texture. Very good Pomerol in a stricter, classical style, should improve with 5 more years in the cellar.

  • 2023 New Year's Day Blind Tasting (Marietta, GA): Darker garnet, maroon rim; great nose, green pepper, dusty earth, red currant, ash, age but good drive almost boring, seems like good vintage, still grippy, unmistakably Bordeaux, holly, some sweetness to the fruit; lots of people went Left Bank and I called 1996 Grand Puy Lacoste- I brought this wine but didn't recognize it.
