  • Rich, hedonistic, highly concentrated but not over the top and still manages to hold itself together. Loads of black sweet fruit and dark chocolate. Musky nose. This really needs another decade, but is drinkable now with a 2 hour decant. 93+

  • Kleur: Diep donkerrood. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 15 + Smaak / Afdronk: 20 + Algemeen / potentieel: 10 = 100/100

Colour: Deep dark red. Aroma / bouquet: A dusty and explosive, but from the very beginning incredibly pleasant, seductive and lush - even floral - bouquet. Dark fruits, especially blueberries and blackberries, lactic/fruit yogurt. Taste / Aftertaste: Also in the mouth a super-seductive, pleasant and irresistibly beautiful wine. Soft acidity, tough and at the same time velvety tannins with a refined bitterness. An extremely 'layered' and complex wine. General / potential: This is an ultimate wine. Already incredibly pleasant to drink now, but with at least another 25 years of future ahead of it. 50 + Colour: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 15 + Taste / Aftertaste: 20 + General / potential: 10 = 100/100

  • 2009 L’Evangile. Some big scores on this one but at this stage comes across ripe and somewhat one dimensional if still delivering a wave of rich fruit and chocolate. Straddles the line to Napaesque without quite crossing it. Very balanced and smooth for the 15% ABV. 94-95/100

  • Rich, ripe, sunny. Really on the rich side - as usual it comes on the expense of elegance and aromatics.

  • Give it 3 hours or more to open, you'll enjoy it for the rest of the night. Simply said, just a beautiful wine once it really opens. It has such finesse while still delivering lots of fruit and depth.
