First time I drink Sassicaia, big surprise as I have seen such a wine. Big personality with high level of elegance. Maybe I should have opened it 2 or 3 years before. If you have it in your cellar, do not wait too much.

Not a formal note. Double decanted two hours before. Tasted with V, K and S for Christmas with a Marc Colin Encégnières with the appetisers and this one was followed by and HDE Enfer de Passion 2016.
This Sassicaia was still very fresh and young. Resolved tannin and a beautiful raspberry and cherry profiled fruit. Vanilla and spices also present. This was very nice with a very good persistance. 93-94
No rush to drink the next one, good for at least another 10 years, but already drinking nicely.

Can you say carmel! Surprising nose and thinking it is still quite young. Big fruit and tannin that didn’t even begin to subside over 5 hours. Did not decant and there was none left to taste the next day. Drank it all!!

Carafé 3h. Une bombe de fruit Nez expressif mais primaire sur la cerise, la mure, la fleur, la réglisse, le tabac blond et une touche de vanille. La bouche est jeune, trop jeune. le fruit prend beaucoup de place et la barique remplace les jolies fleurs du nez et la complexité n’est pas au rendez vous… tout est encore d’un bloc, un peu moderne. La finale est longue, mais encore là, c’est un peu boisé, trop fruité et jeune Bref un vin avec beaucoup de potentiel, nez magnifique mais il doit absolument vieillir encore. Ne pas ouvrir avant 2028 !
