Plummy sweetish fruit and saddle leather on the nose, a touch of spice, tobacco and earth, slightest hints of smokiness. Good intensity. Quite harmonious. Obviously aged but not over the hill. Slightly dried, dusty dark cherry on the palate. A bit tired but still very pleasant and with some tannins remaining, but softened. Balanced. Med length. Nice. Very gentle for St. estephe.

This wine has continued to progress and now I wonder if some bottles of the first wine were labled as La Dame. An absolute delight from first to last sip. Beautiful nose of cedar, oak, leather, pencil lead, spices dark fruits, some red notes, multiple layers of secondary notes. Medium to full bodied. Sweet tannins resolved with smooth mouthfeel, long, long finish. Really singing. Bravo!

Well, well. THis wine has evolved very nicely while stuck in the back corner of the cellar. Appears youthful with a dark, dark color with no evidence of bricking or browning. Plentiful dark cherry fruit with multiple secondary overtones, spice, oak, leather, all a little muted compared to the big brother, but still on obvious display. Tannins resolved, smooth mouthfeel and long finish. Just a delight. Great to see nine more bottles and know its time to drink up.

Tastes like a Montrose First Wine. Beautiful.
