This wine was sampled at the SB tasting room. Seems to suffer from spoilage due to oxidation, but the representative claims it is not. Possibly due to low sulfur dosage. Past it’s drinking window, or at least the bottle that was being served.

This is perhaps one of the most interesting "blends" a taster will encounter. It is comprised of 49% Grenache, 24% Syrah, 9% Mourvèdre, 7% Cinsault, 6% Counoise, 4% "Carmine" (co-fermentation of 66% Alamo Creek Grenache and 34% Colson Canyon Vineyard Syrah) and 1% "Genesis of M5" (co-fermentation of all aforementioned varietals excluding Syrah). It is medium ruby in color and shows ripe boysenberry, raspberry, citrus peel and sage aromas. Medium-to-full-bodied on the palate, it follows with flavors which mirror the nose, supported by a frame of fresh acidity, medium sweet tannins and well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.1%). Solid in the middle and concluding with medium length, this is an enjoyable, well-priced red with broad appeal. Drink now-2018.

Bought on a recommendation from a wine store friend. Decanted for an hour. Color bright ruby red. Nose full of fruity cherry with a subtle oak aroma. Palate medium with a thin texture and an initial flavor of sweet tarts that carries into the finish. It is not at all what I was expecting considering this is a Rhone Blend? I could have easily mistaken this for a Pinot. Different indeed, not sure if I would repeat this considering there are better Rhone's at a much lower QPR. 5,12,14,5=86

Cinnamon and pepper on nose, hint of bacon. Fruit on palate. I can see this as a CA version of Rhone blend. I found it complex and fun.

Pleasant, but disappointed there was not much more to it as a Rhone blend
