Light yellow appearance. It opens a bit muted, but with added air it has a nose of apples, spices, and pastry. On the palate, the wine has lively fruit, some candy notes, and lemon—a very refreshing and balanced wine.

3rd bottle from a 6 pack, last had this wine about 1 year ago. DG 08/2019. Brought this bottle to a Champagne tasting we held at a local sushi restaurant, for our tasting group. Served at the start of the evening, then revisited several times of the course of 2 hours. Of 6 tasters, this was the unanimous WOTN. Notes of Granny Smith apples, lemon peel, some light lees aromas, finishing with creme brulee and fresh ginger. Laserlike acidity and a forever finish. Drink through 2028 or so, it is so delicious and in a perfect window, I'll be drinking my remaining bottles sooner than later, as I prefer the current level of freshness. Tasted alongside NV Stroebel Triptyque, 2009 Hebrart SC, NV Drappier BdQB, 2002 Foreau Vouvray Pétillant Brut Réserve, and 2012 Bolly Rosé.

Quite rich with lemon curd-like richness, herbal and mineral notes. Not as many bubbles as I’d expect for a bottle of this age. This has been a very good cuvee from a weaker year. My penultimate bottle and this is telling me to drink my last soon rather than later. 4- (out of 5), excellent.

Vilmart--Emotion and Coeur de Cuvee (select vintages), the meal anchored by Astrid (My House In The South OC): Disgorged January 2017. 80% Chard / 20% Pinot Noir. This vintage gets outclassed when it stands alongside 2009 and 2013. Reflective of that are my very brief notes from last night. Lemon custard, orange marmalade and a honeyed quality. The bottle went home with someone else so nothing to retaste today.
