Dinner at Alvin's (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind – really nice nose of red fruits and floral with a traditional profile. Silky yet ripe on the palate but quite restrained and very well balanced. Nicely structured and drinking very well right now. Excellent.

Drank with dinner at a friends; followed a Chianti Classico. While this wine was rounder and certainly more complex, it was somewhat disappointing in terms of both intensity and finish.

Red fruit and floral component on the nose. Smooth mouth feel. Strawberry, cherry, and sour finish. Short to medium finish.

Nice Brunello....not as complex or interesting as earlier vintages....or the 2001 for that matter.....In my opinion, drink any 2000s now.....

Warm, mature and relatively balanced. Not a big style, but very typical of more traditional Montalcino. Very enjoyable.
