Double decanted and served with grilled steak. Plums, blackberries and oak in the nose and initial flavors. Full mouth feel with little in the way of noticeable tannins. Nice wine, but should probably be drunk up in the next 3-5 years.
decanted 45 min. dark garnet, lightening to clear red at rim; roasted plums & blackberries, turned red clay, brown spice (coriander seed, cinnamon); med-full bodied; black plum compote, a bit dense, sweet spicy oak, moderate soft tannins, low acid; not the most complex but quite savory & complementary to a well-marbled piece of beef, drinking well now & for a couple more years.
Double decanted about an hour before drinking and served with grilled duck breast. Moderate nose and initial flavors of plums, leather, oak, and blackberries. Good acidity and length. Drinking well and should hold for 4-5 years.
