Tasted blind, this wine had a red/purple center with orange rims. The singed oak, black cherry nose (with a bit of VA funk) had us searching all over the map for the right region. As the wine aired, the singed oak integrated into the wine and the nebbiolo character developed.
In the mouth, this wine was ripe and round with great balance and good length. The tannins were substantial but quite round.
While this is starting to drink, give it at least 4 hours of air to show its best. I don't believe it will get much better but it will certainly last for 10+ years.

Wow... superlative defying greatness here. This wine is like watching an old person running a marathon... still going and kicking ass. Love it.

Lots of VA on the nose. Very powerful but not at all enjoyable.
